Fishing Report 1/13-14

The river was moving pretty fast to clear 3 1/2 inches

of rain that fell last week so it was tougher there, lots

of grass and junk but some fish too.

The Gaps were ok but not what they had been before the

rains. We cruised the Morris Point Gap and never marked

a school of bait fish, the water in the gaps was pretty

muddy. Again, still some fish but it slowed way down from

the 100 fish days the week before.

The weather was great so we went to some mid lake spots and

while still no great numbers we caught several BIG fish on

the upper end of the slot so the weekend was still a very

good one. It was amazing how much CatMan knows

when it comes to fishing in general.

He showed me some new ways to fish that put more

walleye in the boat, he's awsome.

The fall bite is still picking up steam, when all this

excess water flushes through, you can bet the fish will

be back on the feed big time. I can just barely wait for

this coming weekend

Curt - what size jigs are needed in the river to stay vertical?

We had what must have been 3/4 ounce that still swung back

pretty far. contact with the bottom was not a problem but

it wasnt close to verticle.
