NFC, I have no clue.

I'll have a real good grasp after sunday night.

AFC, the Pats look like the team to beat. Although don't give up on San Diego. If they can get the running game going they will be tough in the playoffs. My sleeper is still the Ravens, if they can click on offense.

I'm going with any of the AFC North, 3 teams with a chance, I have $100 with buddies on Cincy with a payout of $400 if they win, but my buddies have Indy, N.E., Dallas, and S.D. I had last pick since I picked Indy last year.

Ummm, I'm pretty sure your Bears got thumped by the COLTS, not the Pats.

I don't think any NFC team has a chance against the AFC right now, the three, maybe four best teams in the league are in the AFC (Pats, Colts, Bengals and Chargers in no particular order).

Chargers are doomed by having hired a loser in Norv "I've never won since Dallas" Turner. I don't think Cincy is quite with the Pats and Colts yet so that leaves those two to settle it in my mind. Right now I'd say Pats, but its a long year and injuries in a couple key spots could change things dramatically. Too early to tell, that's why they play all the games...

Sorry Law Dog,

Typo, I was thinking Colts but typed Pats with all the video cheating stuff swirling around. Score prediction stays the same but switch my winner to the Colts. Thanks for the catch.

Colts 38 Bears 10

The Cowboys look good, but I am going with a sleeper.

The Colts and the Lions. Yes, I said the Lions...and I am not a Lions fan either. They will win the weak and pathetic Central Division.

Hey, if someone can say the Packers...I can say the Lions.

Denver vs Chicago

Chicago 3

Denver 0

3 to 0, that would be the worst Super Bowl ever. Not saying you are wrong, but you gotta admit- it would be pretty boring.

AFC beats NFC. NO team coming outta the NFC can beat the team that survives the AFC gauntlet. And this coming from a NFC fan.

Never used to be that way, sure has changed. Cowboys, Giants, 49ers were all the dominant teams back in the day.

Hey jbell pack are now 3-0 who else in the nfc is undefeated hmmmmmmmmmmmm, no one. As much as I would like to see the vikes in there it aint happening. The pack has just as good a chance as the bears or anyone else.

But hey its just a prediction.

One could only dream of the Pack going to and getting destroyed in the bowl. grin.gif

Indy, Colts, Steelers.

vs.

Dallas, Seatle, Pack, Bears.

That how I see it at this point, of course it is the NFL and things will change as we go through the season.

Hey Pier,

There is a one team limit per conference, LOL

Right now its pretty much a three time race I think. Dallas on the NFC side and the NE/Indy winner in the AFC.

lots of dallas fans here i guess. my conference championships are: NFC philly v. seattle

AFC pittsburgh v. new england

personally i think SF has a better team than dallas. the pokes will get to the playoffs, but that is all.

Patriots will win the superbowl only IF they can stay healthy.. You all must have to remember that Patriots have some injury prone players...

Randy Moss, hamstring problems

Donte Stallworth, hamstring problems...

Maroney, shoulder issues...

Seriously, if Patriots loses Moss due to hamstring issues, the Colts will take the Superbowl again. R Moss is the difference maker for the patriots.. Ever since they aquired moss, Patriots have scored over 30 points on every team so far.

Why not the Vikings then?

Well, I have an imagination...but have my limits.

I am a huge Vikings fan, but hope they tank this year to get a great #1 draft pick.

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
