Gunflint Trail - This coming Weekend

I am going to be up to the gunflint for some grouse hunting and maybe a little fishing. How has the fishing been? We will be on Loon Lake.

Walleyes are deep and hitting on big minnows. Don't know about Loon though. Moose are in rut so keep your eyes open when grouse hunting.

Gunflint, Most fish coming on minnows now? Leech bite over? Have lakes turnned already? How about surface temps.? As you can tell by the ?s , Im heading up your way soon. Thanks

It's hard to say about turn over but the surface temp is about 58 as of yesterday. Minnows and deep water are about the only thing working now. They've gone from aggressive to soft hits. The lake is really stained because of all the rain.
