A buddy of mine told me he sprays WD40 on his lures when he ice fishes.He claims it attracts fish.Any body ever use WD40 for attracting fish?

People have been doing that for years, not so good for the lake though. Definitely not environmentally correct in our world today.

A lot of people do it, I think the old formula had fish oil in it, but the formula now days does not. There are so many other fish attractants/scents out there I don't really see the need to use it now.

If you want a oil for attracking sunnies, use the oil out of a sardine can after you eat the sardines, just a few drops in a small wax worm box is all you need. sounds dumb but it works,you can put the oil and small sardine pieces in a small bottle and dip plastics in it too. wink.gif

WD40 has banana oil.

Preporation H has shark oil.

Way back, my buddy and I were trolling identical lures. He was using WD40 on his and he outfished me 3-1. It works. Not so good for the lake.
