I am heading down to the river tonight and I have never fished it this time of year so I am not sure where to start. I imagin that the same tricks I was using early in the season by presscott have changed and I will need to chase them down. We are heading out after work and hope to find some smallies and an eye or two if they will bite. I am thinging of tossing some buzz baits and shadraps. Firetiger worked earlier should it still? Also not sure about switching to lindy's and spinners after plain gumball jig worded so well earlier.

For smallies it's hard to beat a tube jig, darker colors seem to work the best...have a rod rigged up with a topwater of some sort as well, like a chug bug or pop-r...towards evening get check out some sand flats for smallies and whities bustin minnows on the surface.

For eyes crawler or leech on lindy or a crawler spinner should do the trick. Jig bite should pick up a bit later..
