Big Marine island...camping?

I've always wondered about the larger island on Big Marine (on the north end). Is that a public island? A few times each summer I see people camping and I've always wondered if anyone is able to do it?

It's owned by Boreens, the last farm on the right before you get to the access as you come off of Manning. Those camping there may be friends or relatives, or they just don't care. Years back it was a penninsula, not an island. At that time Boreens operated a campground along the west shore and last time I was there, you could still see the car tracks on top of it.
