Northern Light Lake - Ontario

Recommended Posts

Spent the week before last up at the cabin on Northern Light Lake (ON). By the end of the week the lake level was up about seven inches from earlier in May, still about 25 inches below normal. The Ham Lake fire made it up both sides of Trout Bay, skipped over to Moose Island and into some other islands in Moose Bay. Sure looks a lot different seeing miles of shoreline, just black and gray.

Most of the walleye action was close to the river up in the north end of Trafalgar Bay, didn't find any out in the main lake to speak of. Caught some whitefish still shallow. The smallmouths continue to grow, several 20 inches plus, the largest was slightly over 22" caught by my 8 year old nephew.

Heading back up next week to spend the week of the fourth, hopefuuly the walleye action on the main lake will be up and running by then.
