  8. Anyone else getting PM's now selling things? duck lover 0 Started conversation: 40 minutes ago Leech, in the course of doing some research on a 1953 H.L spear i ran across your post from Jan 2021. I am looking to sell the one i have as i am moving to the East Coast your name jumped out at me as i live on Leech Lake. I couldn't tell from your post if you were looking for one or not. I would have posted to the site but my timeline to leave was just pushed up. My apologies if I've bothered you. Duck Lover
  9. Holy-e-crap The Trolls and spammers are helping the site "hit count" lately. Just do not hit any of their posted links. 🕷

  11. All the boat houses in Stuntz bay is crazy. Who owns all these boat houses? How do you get to own one of these boat houses? I am figuring that their is an interesting story behind these boat houses.
  12. Following up my earlier search for advice on camping with a couple more questions in need of help. At least three of us (1 boat) coming up Saturday through most of next week. Thanks in advance for your input! 1. With the high water, are any public accesses actually closed? Or can you launch if you have a couple guys and waders/hip boots? (Or, as a backup, will resorts let you launch for a fee?) 2. What bait shops do you recommend either in Cook or Tower areas or elsewhere? 3. Assuming 150-foot (or 300-foot?) no-wake restiction, how long of a boat ride from the West Basin to get to the East Basin in decent conditions? Of course, we welcome tips on tactics for walleye and smallies. Sounds like it's minnows-leeches for eyes in classic early-season habitat. For smallies, there is 3 of us so we fish different tactics until one of us figures it out. I'm guessing smallies will be pre-spawn. Or are they on beds? Again, thanks in advance for any advice. I'm in Central Minnesota/St. Cloud area. Happy to return the favor in this area.
  13. I am wondering if anyone has tried a cell phone signal booster to improve your cellphone hot spot performance. I am going to have a Camper parked on some property and know that getting internet using my phone in this area is pretty slow and I don't think I will be able to use my phone as a hot spot to stream. I have read about using a cell phone booster which makes the signal stronger and it improves download speed. I will be located on the east side of lake vermilion on the west side of big bay. One of the companies is "weboost". Has anyone had any experience with this type of set up? Any help would be appreciated. Looking forward to my first summer staying on lake vermilion.
  14. We decided it is about time to get a new roof on the cabin on Cook end. Looking for somebody to do it. Cabin is one story, 24 by 26 not too steep roof. Any recommendations appreciated.
  15. I'm near Vermilion Houseboats and plan on adding internet to the cabin. Looking for some help on who has the best internet service! Thanks

  20. I’ve ice fished Lake of the Woods for 30 years. I’ve recently purchased a cabin in Beaver Bay and I’m looking for a place to ice fish, somewhat nearby with 2 buddies. We need to rent a fish house and I’m looking for suggestions.
  21. I randomly have some weekdays off from work and no parenting requirements... would like to go up to Lake of the Woods/Rainy River and drop some lines. Was going to try to hop onto a charter boat as a +1, but apparently they're all shutting down mid-October this year. Anyone likely to be going out on the water sometime Oct 21-23 and maybe has an empty seat?
  22. Does anyone have recommendations for a company that does cribbing for boathouses and also a tree cutting company. With the water so low it should be easier than normal. I have two big old birch that have to go as well, they can be reached from the road
