Mississippi River, pool 5a Texas Rig; Pit Boss with the heaviest weight I could find ? the second (pictured) Bass will probably be the biggest I catch all year. Just under 3 lbs. As much as I don't care for Pike. I had to show this hog my buddy pulled in this day. Northern Pike, weighing just over 10 lbs - look at that dragon head!

Sauk Rapids/St. Cloud/Sartell Smallies

Hi all. I am new to the forum, but not to the area. Who are the folks on here that like to target smallies on the Mississippi (and tribs)? The last few years I have really enjoyed fishing smallmouth bass in the St. Cloud, Sauk Rapids, and Sartell stretches of the sippi. Anybody getting out for them yet this fall? How is the action for you? Not looking for your secrets (I have plenty of my own), just wanting folks to chime in that share a passion for fishing this awesome river! -
Awesome day at the Ford Dam!

Had an awesome day fishing down at the Ford dam. Another angler actually saw that I had walked upstream pretty far and he decided to give me a ride back in his boat, had a great time and ended getting into some crappie and bass. Awesome that there are people out there willing to do that, very rarely I'm able to fish from a boat!- 2 replies

Walleye Bite on Bay City Flats

Has anyone been fishing the Bay City Flats lately? Or up near The Vermillion near the dam? Thinking of hitting the river this weekend. Heard it's pretty slow. But beats yard work. -
Hey guys, planning to head up to Little Falls to try for some smallies. Can the standard 17' fishing boat navigate below the dam? I haven't been up there before so I'm not sure how the conditions are. Are you better off fishing above or below? Are there any problem areas to be aware of when driving around? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Anyone try fishing down by wilson? Never even driven down there, but got the itch. Any backwater spots or is it all wide open current?
