Visiting Minnesota (Ottertail Lake Area)
CaptainSeabass posted a topic in Alexandria-Miltona-Ottertail-Battle Lake-Perham-Fergus Falls Area Fishing Reports - HuntingG'day guys, I've started up this post as I will be visiting Minnesota (to be specific the Stuart Lake in the Ottertail Lake area) and I would love to hook into some fish! I'm originally from the Netherlands, have lived in Australia for the last 8 years working as a fishing guide, I have moved to Dallas TX with my wife and now we will be visiting my in-laws in Minnesota. I would love to catch Musky, which I know West Battle Lake holds, and of course Walleye. I have been trying to look for areas that hold smallmouth but was unable to find any. I don't have a boat up there or anything so I know I will be in a massive disadvantage for musky but I will give it a try with waders. I would love to get as many tips as possible! Cheers!

Troll cranks for pike? thanks guys, have a great day. Gabe
Cenaiko lake (coon rapids dam)
fishingtime13 posted a topic in Fishing Minnesota - (Spring, Summer & Fall)Im going to cenaiko lake tomorrow morning. Ive been there once before but got there mid day so didn't have the following issue. Is there a way to get there before 6am when the coon rapids dam park opens? im guessing before the park opens there is a gate at the enterance? I want to get there around 430-5 so I don't miss the prime fishing time, being it opens at 6 that's a good amount of prime time wasted. So my question, has anyone gone there (or the coon rapids dam park itself) before it opens at 6? if so, how do u get in? I don't want to have to walk from the side streets all the way to the lake. or is there a place to park closer to the lake outside the park area? EDIT: It is okay to fish the lake before the park opens, there is a sign at the lake saying fishing is 1 hour before sunup until 11pm.

Retrieving A Sunken Snowmobile
SkunkedAgain posted a topic in Vermilion-Pelican Lake-Chisholm-Cook-Ely-Eveleth-Hibbing-Orr-Virginia Fishing Reports - HuntingHearing that some areas have weak ice and seeing that snow is possibly coming next week, I started thinking about it being a bad winter for ice on the smaller bays. That led to thinking about snowmobiles sinking. So how does one recover a snowmobile that's gone through the ice in 10ft of water in the middle of a bay? Do you have to hire someone to get it out? How can you get it above the ice and pull it to safety if you go the DIY route? I did a web search but didn't find much info.
