I loved the idea of a propane auger until after having it a year the hose leaked, replace hose, next year leak again, and now this year low and behold go to start it up for a test before we head to lake of the woods to find this units hose is leaking Again! I contacted Jiffy after reading some of the other posts about other people experiencing the same issue. I let them know of my frustratio, Jiffy let me know that this was a bad design as the propane enters the line as a liquid instead of a gas and that liquid eats the seals in the hose. I asked does unhooking after each use help and running the unit until it runs out help... He said, not really it is design flaw with the hose. He said the gen 3 is a better design. I said can we convert it to the gen three style, sure he said but it's going to cost quite a bit and if you had the gen one(also a bad design) it would be easier to convert. I said what am to do with this then you admit it's a bad design but you won't help.. He said you can buy new hoses or a new Auger.. I said any help at all from Jiffy? He said nonfinancual help... I said can ou at least give me a new hose on good will for trusting your product? He said nope...Then I said how about just a hose at cost then? He said you can buy them at any authorized Jiffy dealer at retail.... I am really disgusted by the way they are treating their faulty design and product. It's just a matter of time their product design hurts someone. If you have a gen two or one I would file a complaint with the US Consumer product safety commission as I have. I have a interview with them on Tuesday to show them the product and the leak. This is completely unacceptable for them to admit the design flaw but refuse to do anything about it. If you are having the same issue here is the website address to file a report. Saferproducts.gov. They were very interested in this issue as if that hose fails while it's in your fish house and your furnace happens to ignite at the same time, that could be a pretty big problem.
