  1. My buddy Tony (@bassfshin24) and I hit the road after Christmas to go and chase some Walleyes on Mille Lacs Lake. We had plans to fish shallow structure during the low light hours and then head out to deeper structure during the day using an ATV. Day 1 the temps had warmed up some from the recent negative temps but we were surprised to find a very slow bite. The slow day was topped off by some ATV problems which left us scratching our heads on what to do for Day 2. As it turned out our options were minimal so we decided to pull out on the lake by hand to some shallow structure. It was -15 when
  2. My first foray into tv land. Grant invited me to co-host an early ice episode on Mille Lacs last week. We showed up like any weekend warrior with no intel and proceeded to try to figure the lake out. This is just the teaser. The full episode will air in January and then be available on Superior Angling's YouTube channel. Give it a share/like if you enjoy it. Thanks in advance!
  3. Not new to ice fishing but I can't seem to find the fish anymore around my neck of the woods in foley mn. so if anyone could give great insight of lakes times and maybe hints of baits and area of the lake would be awesome.
  4. Went and checked the first ice lakes and found .5 inches to almost 2 inches. If you go out please bring a buddy and dry clothes.
  5. Me and my family never have caught a walleye where can we go 2- 3 hours from Chisago city Mn? And pretty much guarantee abunce in walleyes and maybe have a few for dinner? I have tried and tried caught some real awesome fish so far but no walleyes please help thank you
  6. Hey guys and gals! I was wondering what kind of fish is this? I was thinking they were redhorse suckers or something but I am not 100% sure! I have been catching them out of the Mississippi and don't know if they are invasive or what the heck they are because they smell god awful! Thanks!
  7. Im staying at Arrowwood July 2-5 and looking to catch some 'eyes for a fish fry or 2. Never been to the area before so I dont have much to go by other than my overall knowledge of Walleye fishing elsewhere. Ill probably be fishing early mornings and dusk for obvious reasons, but also because my boat will be used for the majority of the days for entertaining the girlfriends family. Im open to fishing not only Darling, but Carlos and Le Homme Dieu as well. From what ive read and can see on Google Earth, the lakes are pretty clear, and from experience, usually means tough walleye fishing for this
  8. I was wondering if and there is any good fishing in Hastings during the summertime lake Rebecca, lake Isabella, Vermilion River, or anywhere off the banks of the Mississippi? I haven't caught anything yet this year and I am itching to catch anything now. Just a fyi I just bank fish. Thanks in advance!
  9. Greetings fishermen and women! Its great being back in the swing of things and better yet in the boat! Both the MN and Ontario season is now open and fishing has been great! Staffers here at Flag Island Resort have been busy getting ready for the upcoming summer months with some deep cleaning, window washing, grounds work and remodeling! On the Minnesota side anglers have been catching nice saugers, walleyes and perch. Soon the crappies should be finding their way into the shallows around Angle Inlet and other small creeks and the walleyes have spawned out over the past couple of w
  10. Fishing Report from Flag Island Resort, Lake of the Woods NW Angle 2-20-17 Fishing on the MN side started out a little slower at the beginning of the warmer temps we have been having but we have seen a 360 turn around and fishing is back to where we like to see it for the NW Angle. We are seeing a lot of nice Walleye, Sauger, Perch, Tulibee and Pike being caught in 20-26 feet on the rocks and sand. The best areas we have seen all year are on rocks and shallow, the fish are feeding on the crayfish. The best colors ave been gold, red, silver and blue on spoons, rattler flyers
  11. What do you all run for fishing line in the winter walleye fishing? I've been running fire line on a couple of reels usually 6-10lb line because I get sick of having fish snap my line. I've always had success with this line during early ice, but I am looking to go to a lighter line in hopes of catching more fish this time of year. Anyone have any suggestions? Not sure if switching line will help but I'm willing to try it, the last couple of weekends have been really really slow. Adapt or accept mid winter blues??
  12. Holy carp

    Lake parley

Anyone been out on lake parley in st.boni, and found any walleyes? I've been sticking to o'dowd for the most part this year with little luck. Parley has been a good producer for me walleye wise, just curious if anyone has been out and found any eyes?
  13. Fishing Report from Flag Island Resort 1/30/17 The weather this past week up here in the angle has been pretty unstable with temps in the single digits and closer to the thirties and now snow flurries today. The fish have still been biting and anglers are still taking home limits every day. On the Minnesota side, anglers are catching a good mix of fish including Walleye, Sauger, Perch, Pike and Smallmouth Bass. Eel Pout will be spawning within the next couple of weeks. The depths we have been fishing with success is 20-26 feet and in 13-14 feet from 4-6pm in cu

  15. Fishing Report from Flag Island Resort Lake of the Woods, NW Angle 1/16/17 Fishing up here in the angle has been great! On the Minnesota side the Walleye, Sauger and Jumbo Perch bite has been hot. The early morning and afternoon bite has been best and the fish are aggressive. We have been fishing in 21-28 feet on reefs, gravel bars, shoals and rocks. Buckshots, Lindy Flyers, Ripping Raps, and Jigging Raps have all produced fish. Live minnows with demon glow and a bobber have also been successful. Colors of choice have been red glow, gold, pink and green glow. A lot of nice fish
  16. Caught a few walleyes on o'dowds this weekend. Was marking a lot of fish on the bottom but very skidish and not willing to bite very well. Anyone else have any luck on o'dowds?
  17. Well im hoping that maybe ill be able to find a little insight as to how i can feed my ice fishing addiction on the weekend. While working all week its not that I have to travel alot to find a lake. Just that i plunged into my addiction being a novice at best. Looking for some advice on what to look for when choosing lakes and how to go about pursuit on the lake.
  18. Hello I am looking for this exact reel with the cork handles in left hand it is the black berry 2014 model. I really want one so if you have it pm me I will pay a decent price
  19. Hello, I am wondering if anyone knows of any small lakes or ponds in the metro that I can ice fish I know yout want to give away any of your spots so PM me and I will trade some spots. I am looking to catch bass, crappie or possibly walleye Tight Lines!
  20. Anyone been fishing waconia, parley, o'dowd, lotus, with any walleye luck? We have been hitting all of the said lakes with reckless abandon to no avail!!! I'm not much of a panfish guy, generally target walleye and pike. Had some luck on parley and o'dowd with the pike but can't seem to find any walleyes. But I'm still fishing and loving every minute of it!!
  21. Fishing report from Flag Island Resort, Lake of the Woods NW Angle 1/2/17 Happy new year everyone! We hope you all had a safe and happy holiday. Fishing up in the NW Angle has been really heating up and we are in the full swing of things once again! We have a plowed ice road marked with signs out the resort and open to full sized vehicles. There is also a staked snowmobile trail all the way up from Baudette. On the Minnesota side the Walleye, Sauger and Perch bite has been good. We have about 14-16 inches of ice. Walleye and Perch are being caught in 20-26 feet and Saugers in th
  22. Didn't have much time to fish when visiting Smitty's for a family reunion trip, and it was my first time on the lake, but just wanted to report the success I did have. On the late afternoon of Saturday the 27th I found some walleyes in 25+ feet of water near a small island. Was jigging a pink walleye jig tipped with a chub minnow. Had a decent chop from the south, and grey skies before an approaching system that showed up that evening. Caught three walleyes (16.5", 17.5" and 10") and a few small smallies. Heard some success from some other fisherman with walleyes as well throughout the we
  23. Hello again from Sunset Lodge on Oak Island! Hope everyone had a great week! Here in the Northwest Angle, things are about as good as they can be, the weather has been decent and just a few showers and storms to contend with. And the fishing has been good! The water temp was between 70 and 73 degrees this week. Stateside, anglers are finding that pulling night crawlers behind spinner rigs has been working well and catching walleyes. Depths range anywhere from 8 to 25 feet with hammered gold, copper, orange, and pink being the best producers. Areas to target are the flats and mud be
