  1. Ruby Lake by Marcell, MN has massive 28-30+ walleyes in the lake. It's a best kept secret. The small landing can only handle 3 trucks or so. If you want to catch massive walleyes, just use a 1/4 oz lindy rig, plain hook, and a leech or crawler. I'm not gonna give you the coordinates, you need to find them. Good luck, Java Guy
  2. My 4 yr old wants to try to catch his first walleye. We live across from Stillwater just a couple miles into WI. Prefer a WI lake within 30 min. I would Appreciate any guidance I can get. Hoping to get out next weekend.

  4. Just read the new regs for 2020 on Mille lacs. Same as 2019. Locals are not happy and I don’t blame them one bit. It’s amazing that one agency can dictate the livleyhood and economy of so many people. There should be some way to hold them accountable. It is sad what has happened around the big lake. Nowhere in the US has there been a debacle like this. Now I read that LOW has seen a tremendous increase in wheel house traffic this last December. A combo of bad conditions on Red and the crazy regs on Mille lacs has moved a lot of the crowd up north and increased pressure there.

    Monster Walleye

Rumor has it a walleye that "likely" tipped the scales near 15 lbs was caught on a lake near Mille Lacs. From what I read, the fish was weighed the day after it was caught at 14.186 lbs and lost a couple ounces just in the time it was at the bait shop being weighed.

    Wanted: Fishing Buddies

Crew, I'm relocating from Denver to Minneapolis next week. I've worked as an elk hunting and fly fishing guide; but it's been awhile since I've taken ice fishing seriously. I'd love to find a group of guys who would be willing to let me tag along. I'd be more than happy to chip in for gas and share years of hard earned (mostly true) hunting and fishing stories. Please shoot me a reply if you have an open seat in the coming weeks!
  7. Hi guys! It's been a while since I've posted, most likely last year! I run a fishing contest on Lake Gervais for a non-profit group called the Little Canada Recreation Association (www.lcraonline.org). The contest is this Saturday, starting at 10:30. It's a walk up contest. we drill all the holes...well, actually, the Roseville Boys Hockey team does! Line forms early and we let you go at 10:30am. We lots of food, booya by the Little Canada Fire Dept., beer and mixed drinks! Lots of great fishing prizes and we will also be selling raffle tickets for $5. You'll have a chance to win the grand pr
  8. Hey I was curious to see if there were any active fishing clubs near whitebear lake or forest lake
  9. Has anyone been out to big swan recently? Curious how the ice is and if there are spots to avoid as I’ve not fished this lake before. Looking to target cats as my other lakes have been lacking this year. Don’t need other people’s spots just ice conditions. Would like to bring out my 3/4 ton and 17’ IC if possible.
  10. Hey guys! First post so excuse me if I'm posting in the wrong spot. I just moved to Elk River, MN and am feening for some fish. I have no idea where to go first but do any of you know any decent spots to get some Crappie or Walleye within a 45 min drive from Elk River? Any spots are greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!
  11. Anyone know of lakes with decent shore fishing near Mankato? I've gone to North Shore on Madison Lake but can't find any shore on other lakes near by. Any suggestions?

    Shore Fishing Walleye, Where?

Anyone got any place that they would like to share with me to catch walleyes from shore. That is good anytime of the season. Preferably public land. I've got bad hips and cant be lifting my canoe any longer, so Im stuck to fishing on the shore. If you have any ideas of places let me know. Id be grateful for the advice. Minnesota or North Dakota advise welcome. Oh, Ill be fishing at night mostly. Ill be using live bait, Chubs and leeches. Thanks!
  13. A group of us recently made it up to Flag Island Resort for 3 days of multispecies ice fishing on Lake of the Woods. The accommodations and folks who worked at the Resort were top notch! Bending over backwards to put you on fish and make your trip one to remember. The Fishing - Day 1 it was decided to stay, somewhat, close to the Resort in the MN side of LOTW to target Walleye, Sauger and Perch due to 24+ hours of snow. We got into pretty good numbers of fish and some quality fished showed up as well! Below is a video of that action from Day 1.
  14. A group of high school buddies and some of their family make an Annual trip up to Baudette to fish Walleyes on Lake of the Woods. I look forward to this trip each year! Since this is an Annual Trip we all put some money and bragging rights on the line for the Angler who can catch the biggest fish of the weekend, take home the Trophy, $500 Cash and call themselves "Mr. Walleye" for the next 365 days. The Largest Perch and Heaviest Eelpout/Burbot also take home prizes. I didn't have the camera's rolling on Day 1 (which was lights out) but on Day 2 of the trip we were filming. It was fun day and

    Mille Lacs Trip

@bassfshin24 and I snuck up to Mille Lacs for 2 days of fishing recently. We were targeting Walleye near shallow structure in the low light hours and bumping out a bit deeper during mid-day. The first day was slow for us but we found more action on Day 2 including my 2nd biggest Walleye through the ice. I also caught my first tagged Walleye! Pay attention for my slip and fall...
  16. Hello all, I am new to the area and don't know where to begin fishing. I'm looking for a lake around Mankato that has walleye / crappies in it. I would like to make it out a few times this fall yet and then hit the ice hard. Any advice on what lakes to start with? There's so many that I don't know how to choose which one to go to.
  17. A group of us are planning on getting together on Lake Osakis for the day on 8/18/18 for a day of fishing and a midday picnic at the Battle Point Park. We would enjoy connecting with some fellow anglers from the site to connect and have some fun. Osakis is a great lake for big gills, slab crappies, nice walleye, pike, smallmouth and largemouth bass. The best walleye bite has been during low light periods. Sunfish and crappie bite all day. We plan on taking a break around noon at the Battle Point Park for lunch. Right now tentatively looking to connect around 8-9 at the access. Otherwise
  18. Hey fellas, I developed a free fishing phone app for my fellow fisherman. It’s called FishIQ. I broke down 10 species by their location based on the water temperature. So if you’re looking for quick pointers or interested on where to find other species throughout the seasons give it a try! Hopefully it leads to more fish at the boat!

  21. Hello everyone. I have been fishing my whole life, just not much walleye fishing. I bought a boat a couple weeks ago and I’m not having much luck. I normally troll with Rapalas and I have tried bottom bouncers with a crawler harness with little luck. I don’t think I’m running the bottom bouncers right because I get snagged almost every time. I’m sure I’m doing it wrong. I usually fish Island Lake or Fish Lake. Any help or pointers would be awesome! Thanks
  22. Has anyone targeted whitefish on Vermilion, specifically Frazer Bay? Any tips?
  23. March 4, 2018: We know everyone is waiting for River updates....We haven’t made the 120 miles round trip to International Falls to check yet. Grants Dad does drive that way once a week and when we know more we will let you know. We are hoping to have a report in a few weeks as there is quite a bit of ice on the river still. March 11th, 2018: As of Wednesday there was no improvement on the river opening up. The temperatures have not been that warm with very little melting happening. Also the we have had some pretty cold nights in the single digits and low teens. This coming week look
