Angler Following Walleyes
LakeofthewoodsMN posted a topic in Fishing Minnesota - (Spring, Summer & Fall)
On the south end... As the season progresses, anglers are following the walleyes, which in their typical winter pattern, are moving further from shore. Walleyes and saugers being caught in 30-33 feet. A mix of different size fish continue to be caught with sorting taking place to find the keepers. Jigging with lures with a rattle or vibration has been effective in both catching and attracting fish. Use a deadstick as your second line. Normally a jig or plain hook with a live minnow under a bobber just off of the bottom will work well. Electronics are helpful to show suspended fish as we -

2020 Lake Pokegama Fishing Reports - Click Here Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I will be staying up here for the summer (work) and am wondering if this lake is a viable way to entertain myself. Any pointers, or what species is good to target would be much appreciated, and if any of ya get around St. Cloud I would be happy to return the favor.

Lake Koronis Fishing Reports
Paul Waldowski posted a topic in SW Minnesota & Willmar-Spicer Fishing Reports - Hunting - Events
Ice Report 1/14/2020. We are now at 15-17 inches everywhere that I have staked. At this time I will not be expanding our road system until after the latest snownommi rolls thru. CAUTION a heave has been developing off the point just to the east of us and with today's wind has pushed up and flooded. I found as few as 6 inches of ice in that area. STAY AWAY from that point.- 40 replies

upper red lake Upper Red Lake Fishing Reports by Cookie
cookie129 posted a topic in Upper Red Lake Fishing Reports - Hunting
fishing reports from the shores of upper red lake. We /Phil and I got out yesterday just for a hour before I had to go to work. Managed two fat keepers and missed a couple of fish. We were fishing down where the water get a little deeper closer to shore .Alll Our fish and misses came in six feet of water. Phil was dragging a orange floating jig with a lindy sinker about 12 inches up the line while I was slow trolling a gold and red spinner. Phil got both keepers while all I could do is swing and miss. It was still nice to see Phil catch a couple as I usaly outfish him. -
My wife just seen in Facebook that a vehicle went through on norway lake by willmar. Said it went through in the area of 189 st?? In about 10 ft of water.

Walleyes Sliding to Deeper Water
LakeofthewoodsMN posted a topic in Fishing Minnesota - (Spring, Summer & Fall)
On the south end... Walleyes and saugers sliding into a bit deeper water with 26-30 feet being where most are fishingl Good numbers of fish continue to be caught with a lot of sorting the future small fish in the system and choosing just the right ones for a fish fry. Make some noise! Jigging with lures with a rattle or vibration has been effective in both catching and attracting fish. Use your second line, use as a deadstick, a jig or plain hook with a live minnow under a bobber set at 6 inches to a foot off of the bottom. Electronics are helpful to show fish, how they are reacting to y -

On the south end... Good numbers of walleyes and saugers are being caught this week, but a lot of sorting as lots of small fish in the system Most ice fishing is taking place between 23 - 31'. Jigging one line on one line and using a bobber with a live minnow on the other is the goto strategy. Electronics are helpful to show suspended fish coming through such as walleyes and tullibees. Popular colors... gold, glow red, glow white, pink and orange. Lures with a red light stick and rattle baits are also effective. Some big walleyes over 28 inches caught this week. Snowmobile auger mounting
Eyesniper posted a topic in St Cloud Area Fishing Reports - Hunting - Events
Curious to hear what others are using or have had success when carrying their ice auger on a snowmobile. Currently my wheeler is in for a rebuild so time to set up the snowgo. As of now my best thought is a digger mounted on the front bumper to give the auger a smoother ride. -
Leech Lake. I am wondering what to expect. I think I might go out on Boy bay using the public landing on Sugar Point. First are there any safety concerns, ice conditions to worry about, Landing safe? Second what can I expect for fish? Kind of looking for some nice panfish during the day and a stray walleye or two towards evening

Great Week of Fishing Action
LakeofthewoodsMN posted a topic in Fishing Minnesota - (Spring, Summer & Fall)
On the south end... A great week of walleye and sauger action on Lake of the Woods. Most ice fishing is taking place between 23 - 28'. Jigging one line and using a bobber with a live minnow on the other is the go to strategy. Popular colors this week... gold, glow, glow red, pink and orange. A lot of small fish to sort through to find keepers. Some big walleyes from 28 - 32 inches caught this week. A mix of walleyes and saugers with jumbo perch, big pike, tullibees and eelpout being caught as a rule. On the Rainy River... Ice fishing on the river continues to be good overall. Mo -
I’m trying to throw a last-minute ice fishing trip together for my kids. Will be their first time to Lake of the Woods. Looking at the weekend of the 14th and 15th. Any of you guys have any opinions as to how the ice road/lake condition is now compared to the weather forecast-and what my chances look like for a decent road at that time. I know no one can tell the future but just looking for any educated guesses since you guys are the experts. What are my chances the roads still look good in 11 days. Thanks everyone!

Fishing report for the St. Louis River
tacklejunkie posted a topic in BWCA-Duluth-Gunflint Trail-North Shore Lake Superior Fishing Reports - Hunting - Events
For 2019-2020 St Louis River Fishing Reports - Click Here. Now that the weather is drying out a little and the bay and the river are starting to clear out a little I headed out yesterday morning to do some fishing. Crawler harnesses with yellow and fluorescent blades and fire tiger worked the best. All fish were caught anywhere from 4 feet to 7 feet of water. Hit every flat I could find from Spirit Lake all the way down to the bay. The fishing picked up when the wind picked up. Water temperature were in the low 60s. Nothing fast and furious just steady -

Ice Fishing in Full Swing
LakeofthewoodsMN posted a topic in Fishing Minnesota - (Spring, Summer & Fall)
On the south end... Ice fishing is in full swing. Resorts have fish houses out and good numbers of walleyes and saugers being caught. Cold fronts can slow the bite some but be patient and work lures. Other colors, gold, glow, glow red, pink. On the deadstick, a glow jig or plain hook with a live minnow. A mix of walleyes and saugers with some jumbo perch, big pike and eelpout this week. On the -

Good day everyone and I hope you had a great holiday. I am taking my brother and nephew fishing tomorrow, Sunday 12/27. They have never fished winter time so it's more for the experience, we don't have to slay fish (would be nice though). Challenge is I have to stay around the Roseville/Maplewood/White Bear area because time is limited. I haven't seen any ice reports for lakes like Johanna, Josephine, maybe even White Bear or Bald Eagle. Has anyone been on or know what this state of the ice for these lakes? Any advice would be appreciated. Than
