Actually better and a easier surgery than was first expected Jeff will be recovering for a few days but I'm sure will chime in sometime in the future. Just thought I would let everyone know how everything went. Rooting for you bud wont be long and you will be back in the saddle.
  3. Does anybody know if the Anoka dam is any good for suckers on the rum river? I’m wanting to try to target them this year and I know March is prime time. If anyone has any spots that they would like to share, I would greatly appreciate it. I hear sucker burgers are pretty tasty!!
  4. Having fished this lake from shore in the summer and my daughter also and did real well, I can't figure why ice fishing is so bad. 2 full days and nothing! 3" perch galore. Moved around and had my camera. Didn't see any life forms whatsoever!!!!! Never coming back. Hardly a soul on the lake on a 43 degree.Sat.??? What?????
  5. Wondering if anyone is guiding for crappies this year
  6. Well being the ice season is slowly coming to a end. My question to all that ice fished this season what pros cons did you find on the hardwater? Maybe we can all help each for our purchases next year. We are all trying to save a buck now a days. Yes I know many will say not enough time on ice We have all been there including myself. I thought Id give a report on some of things I used this ice season that really impressed me and some things that didn't. Logged 64 outings on the ice this year already and a few more to come so I've used my gear to fullest. . Many that have fished with me

  8. Does anyone have any information on ice fishing tullibees in pelican lake. I have heard of people catching good numbers out there before but don’t know where to start at out there. Any information about it would be great.
  9. Hi all! About a month ago I went fishing on the Horseshoe Chain and think I may have left my boots at the landing after changing into shoes at my truck. I went to get my stuff together the other day and can't find them anywhere, thinking back that day on the Chain is the last place I remember having them. I figured maybe some folks on here might have heard if anyone found a pair. If so, I can describe the brand, color, size, and where I left them. Thanks much for any help! Tight lines!
  10. In all the years going to low never fished them, heang up this weekend and thinking of trying there. Are they any good or should head out far like everyone else?
  11. Any one know if there is a plowed road out of Burntside and if there is where it goes out of
  12. Does anyone have current knowledge on ice road distances? I know each resort will be different. Hearing roads are 20+ miles out from pine which would put them beyond garden. Heading up after the weekend and curious how far the roads are out. Any info helps, thanks guys. Enjoy fishing with the warm weekend!
  13. 2020 Lake Pokegama Fishing Reports, Grand Rapids - Click Here. I will be staying at a resort on Pokegama in early June. What can I expect as far as fishing? Are there any methods that traditionally work well this time of year? I am not particular to a species, just looking for some action. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
  14. Found a portable left on the ice 2/15/20 at about 4 30pm. Had been there over a day as it had snow drifted around it. If you can describe it, and where on the lake I would love nothing more to get it back to the owner. Thanks!!!!
  15. I realize Lake of the woods is definitely more of a day bite but am going up second week of March and will be sleeping in my pop up. Was thinking of fishing during the day in the 30 ft range where most others are and then moving up shallower on structure in hope of picking up a few overnight? Also could care less about number of fish, mainly looking for bigger mature fish as I don’t keep fish most of the time anyways. This will be my first time there so any help appreciated.
  16. Been seeing a lot of boat activity on the Two Harbors boat launch cam, just wondering if anyone is having any luck?

    Big Trout lake

I am from Iowa we are planning a trip up to Big Trout Lake, I was wondering about the ice conditions (snow, slush, and thickness) any info would be appreciated.
  18. Can I cut the quick connect from the vexilar charger and then cut alligator clips off my lithium charger and switch them with no problems? I know there would be no issue with the alligators on the vex charger. Curious about the lithium with quick connect. The new 20 has the quick connect.
  19. On the south end... A great week of ice fishing with lots of fish frys. Good fishing reports, most fishing in 27 - 33' of water. Ice conditions on LOW remain excellent at around 30 inches where most are fishing. Use combo of jigging line and deadstick. Try spoons or lipless crankbaits with rattles to pull fish in. Pink hook with a minnow on deadstick effective this week. Some good colors overall, gold, glow, pink, green, orange and chartreuse. Don't be afraid to downsize presentation on a tough bite day. Small spoon with a minnow head, wax worm or euro larvae can catch extra fish. El
  20. On a lake near Sugar. Got on to some great sunfish they were deeper than I thought 22 feet deep suspended at 14 feet. Nonstop for 2 hours a black tungsten jig worked best I did try plastics for a bit for building up confidence but the fish showed otherwise quickly. Went back to 3 euro worms 4 was to many . Then I got a 10.5 bluegill my first one and wouldn't you know it my phone was about 2 blocks away. So I let her go not going to keep a fish out of water to get a glory picture. Oh well next time. Get out while you can the lakes were good with the warm up but who knows in a couple of weeks. T
  21. Heading up to Avon to fish Middle Spunk lake this weekend. Looking for any advice or insights for fishing this lake and what to target.
  22. I know this is fishing Minnesota but tried something new. Was very interesting and learned a lot quickly. ice conditions restricted where we could get to but we had 5 bites 2 fish. was fun fighting them big steelhead.

Heading to the Virginia Mn area Ice fishing in a few weeks. I've fished the Duluth area most of my life but finally spreading out a bit. Not hoping to get anyones "spot". How are ice conditions? Anywhere to stay away from safety wise? Any dead lakes that would be a waste of my time on a limited trip? Thanks yall
  24. Hey everyone! Heading up to the Gunflint area this weekend to do some trout fishing.. Anybody been out recently? How thick is the ice? Was planning to put the new ice saw to use and do some sight fishing but curious how the conditions are? Thanks! Jon
