Walleyes in shallow water on opening weekend. We took many 'eyes from 19 ½ to 27 ½ inches long-line trolling #13 Floating Rapalas in 5 to 7 feet of water on the south side of Mille Lacs.

Added a few nice northerns as well. Trolling at 1.7 to 2.0 mph with Rapalas 125 to 150 feet behind the boat. Worked gravel or rock flats near the mouths of feeder streams. Crappies starting to bite well in the shallows in Metro area lakes, with walleyes shallow in these lakes as well.
