Madison or Tetonka

2 posts in this topic

I went out to Eagle Lake last night. There wasn't anything there so I skipped over to Madison and there are A LOT of fishing hovering over deep water. I marked a ton of fish on the northern part of the lake. They seemed happy over at least 20 feet of water. I was marking fish between 15 and 25 feet in 30+ feet of water. Didn't get any to bite though, couple of guys coming back had some nice crappies and had a pic of a fish they couldn't identify. It was an 'eye! I would imagine the crappies and 'eyes were biting good (on live bait, I was trying lures).

I think I'm going to head to Tetonka for the first time tonight. Any suggestions for walleyes or pike? Should I just hit Madison with shiners?

I had friends on both lakes yesterday and did well doing the same thing; pitching jigs and minnows into cover in 1 - 2' of water adjacent to deep water.
