I was just on Island on Thurs and Friday. We fished in a 17 footer with no problems. Each time I fish there though, I find out how much it changes. I only fish it twice a year and find sunken islands that are now visible and vice versa. I did fish the west basin for the first time and had good luck at a spot given me by a local. Otherwise, I usually fish the mouth of the river on the east side.

There is a public launch on the east side from MN power. There is also a public launch on the west side but didn't use it. We were able to get our boat under the bridge due to the lake being a few feet down.

The lakes took a beating and I was not out on Sunday to see the damage. Saturday I saw the first 4 to 5 inches turn soft. Be careful and check the ice conditions

Sometimes you need em that size.      You guys did push me over the edge so I had to go out Sunday afternoon.  Thanks for that.

I was going to try to go tomorrow (walking out in metro) despite the rain which appears to be light and I have a portable. Are you concerned about the ice conditions deteriorating throughout the day?  Or just for the rest of the week?
