Missing the opener

9 posts in this topic

this is one that I'm happy to miss, but even happier that I can look forward to next year's.

Had one of those cardiac events on 4/15, 2 days after I turned 56. Out of the clear blue (almost). blush.gif

Hope brighter days are lying ahead! Enjoy every moment in the boat, once you're back fishing!

Good LUck!

of that there is no doubt. Only missing 'cause the cardiologist wants a piece of my A$$ before he greenlights me to crank in the boat.

Me and the grandsons will probably shorefish on the RLR instead. cool.gif

Don't worry as the season winds on it just gets better and better. Plus opening weekend on Upper Red Lake is not good for the blood pressure.

Thanks, folks.

Ya know, it's interesting. MY BP, cholesterol and weight have always been pretty good. Exercise, too.

I had some chest pains, went in and got it checked out. They ran a batch of tests and determined one of the artery's was 97% blocked. They shoved in two stents.

Why? Heredity and 35 years worth of humpers. And I had quit the smokes about 3 weeks before this happened.

Nice thats what I like to hear, was doing an annual trip to LOW with my buddies, but to be quite honest biggest fish I ever saw in 10 plus trips was 27 inches, I caught 3 bigger than that on the pond last year, and hey I can stay in Wright county where I live and catch 10 inch walleyes.. I don't make it up to that end of the lake ever, usually fish the south end..Bought a wheel house this year, would loke to set it up as base camp and hopefully be able to head up toward that end and do some exploring..And thanks for the input, thinking there is a lot of readers and not many writers on this site nowadays...

Lake Marion is completely iced over. Hopefully we won't get much snow and be fishing soon.

Silver lake in New Brighton is iced over. I'm going to count one week before checking thickness on my early ice spots. Could be fishing next Friday if all goes well.
