Guides

Do any of you guide or know of anybody that guides around the Saint Cloud area lakes?

I have been able to find the easy fish (crappie, pike, bass, etc.) but I am still having troubles with locating Walleye and I have a couple uncles coming from Florida that want to test their hand on walleyes in a few weeks. I am thinking that I may want to hire a guide for a half day or so to give some general ideas and pointers before rolling out. Thanks.

Head to Mille Lacs. If you try their forum they will point you in many directions. Heck, only an hour or so north and if they want to get into some serious walleye that would be my best guess.

Give Josh a call at Minesota Guide Service and he'll help you out. He guides on several of the St Cloud area lakes.

Blue Ribbon in Oakdale. Kathy's Bait off Rice and Maryland. If you go up north and drive through the cities, Vados off Central and highway 10 is the best.

I usually go up north, or stop by my Holiday to grab waxies or some small crappie minnows. But where in the metro can a guy get some small/medium suckers or shiners? I am closer to the south metro and work in Woodbury. I don't think Cabelas or Gander carry them anymore.

I would also suggest small sucker, I also had good luck with just a crappie minnow on the hook. Depends on the lake really.

White jig heads with a white tube, if that's not working use a buzz bomb with a sucker head or tail on the treble
