Catching Crappies In Silver Lake

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone.

I just started fishing in silver lake this year and really enjoy it. I mainly fish for Carp and Suckers however I have caught a few Perch as well. I would like to start targeting Crappie but would like to hear preferred methods for catching them at silver lake. Are there certain areas that are best for catching Crappies or is any place fine? Also recommendations on which lures and baits to use would be great.

Any help you can offer me would be much appreciated. smile.gif

For crappies, I've always done best with live bait on Silver Lake. I'm a big plastics guy, but for some reason, the live minnow seems to fire up the crappies in Silver. If you get into an active pod of fish, I'd then go to plastics.

For starters, try the stone arch bridges on the East side of the lake.

Good Luck
