tourneys

2 posts in this topic

Hey guys- Fished in one last year, and would like to get into a little more. I have a small pocket book, and a smaller boat... but don't know of many to enter. Where is the best place for information? Just keep checkin resorts? Would only really want to target walleye, perch, or smallmouth. Not really set up for heavy musky fishin. My buddy and I are planning to enter one that we know of in July for $100 bucks a boat. Any other small time tourneys around; not lookin; for a wave wacker entry yet. tongue.gif

Tourneys link

Back in December ('06) I decided to take it upon myself to put together a list of ice fishing tourneys in the area. Long story short: spend hours surfing, googling, yahooing, calling websites, resorts, vets clubs etc. There isn't any easy, convenient site listing lots of tourney info so you'll end up looking at dozens of individual sites. I may try it again next winter, but for open-water, I'll let you volunteer!

Most of our fish came on minnows under bobbers. I spooked countless fish with even subtle jigging.

Hey, Here a quick update on actual ice thickness or snow cover on trout. 14 inchs of ice pressure ridge out there. if you are  on a snowmobile if traveling fast on it watch for it. Truck or car i do not recommend on trout with pressure ridge. And yes i have been on the whitefish chain this year in truck. just not on trout. just my 2 cents
