Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Recommended Posts

I've never fished Red in the summer and want to try to get up there sometime this year with our boat. I was just wondering which resort has the best boat landing or if there are any public landings? Thanks for any info

westwinds has a harbor and launch...probably the best bet otherwise the tamarac has a public landing can be tricky with the low waters.....

I've stopped at that access in the fall while on my way to grouse hunting up in beltrami state forest, the the access is on the river...I'm just wondering because of it's location on the river if that's a safe access point in the winter?

not in the winter......there is always moving water there and there are rocks in the area that keep things warm and unstable (pretty shallow)......people have claimed they use it but for 8 bucks no thanks i will use a plowed road on ice that is a little more stable!!!

As for Channels ( Canals! what the ? crazy.gif) West Winds has a great harbor/marina with a good canal out. The mouth of the river can be good also for summertime use.

Before this last cold snap the only open water on the lake was along the shore and in front of the river. I was geting excited I would have a 50 yard hole to drive my boat around in then it refroze.

I fished shakopee lake in onamia on monday it had ten inches of good ice. Lots of air bubbles but seemed solid. I would guess most lakes in the area have enough to at least walk on but u can never trust ice so be carfull bring spud bar and ice picks and a friend just in case

Thanks for the shout out Moose.  I have plans to go out this weekend but to another lake.  I’ll ask if the other party wants to stick to those plans or head east instead.

Yep, that’s what I’ve heard.  I’ve used loose powder quite a bit before.  My first ML was Hawken kit gun in 50 cal.  True black powder in an actual powder horn.  Patch and ball.   The only thing I didn’t like about ML season back then is I couldn’t wear the traditional clothes too!

Lots of fresh ice out there. With the snow we have gotten the last few days you won’t be able to see the difference between the older and newer ice so don’t forget to check. There were open water spots on most lakes 2 days ago that are now covered. CHECK for your self.  Also lots of trash already on a lake I was on, slobs, throw it in your own car if you don’t mind looking at it.

If he is going to fish them from a kayak I would suggest getting him a boga grip that way he can get it out of the water

Thanks for arranging this MM.  Wish I could make it.  I'm sure it'll be a great time!

I heard of a ranger/ice castle out from the Pelican access last weekend.  Any truth to that?  Some people have no fear.

You will like the Blackhorn powder as long as you are used to using loose powder and not pellets. It burns much cleaner making reloads much easier. I clean my muzzleloader the same way as all my other guns now. Just remember that you don't have to use as many grains of powder with the 209. The max recommended is 120 grains. I shot 100 grains of pyrodex but dropped to 90 with the 209.

I use a rattle reel with clamp in my 949.
