CR Dam area

Is the river on the CR Dam pool open? What about the ramp area?

Thinking about getting on the water between this weekend and next.

What are you gonna fish for? Are there any white bass that far upstream?

Thinking about just getting on the water, and maybe find some panfish. Whites wiould be a bonus...

No Whites up here, panfish, pretty hard to find, we had a lot "pan fishermen" here last year, throwing tubes, jigs and spinnerbait's. mad.gifmad.gif

The water is rising fast and getting fast, still a lot of ice and logs coming down. blush.gifblush.gif

I drove by the Anoka/Rum ramp two days ago and it looked pretty good. Went out there this morning with the boat, and the water has risen quite a bit and was moving fast. Drove around to the other side to see what the main river was like and that was moving really fast too. Too fast. That and the fog... crazy.gif

I'm going to try Pool 2 once this fog starts to lift...

Nope, went to hang out with the crowds at Pool 2. Caught 1 nice 'eye about 19" and missed something else and that was it.

I like to sacrifice larger shiners just for their scales.  Ill take my thumb nail and work em off in the hole and a big cloud of scales slowly make their way down.  Ive never been a fan of a pile of dead minnows under my hole.

Fished today from 23ft-33ft. Moved 8 times. 3 guys. 2 fish. Thus far.... Case anyone else who prefers an honest report cares to hear one.   75+yrs experience with 40+ on this lake during winter. For whatever its worth.

Has anyone been out the past couple of days and if so how is travel across the lake? Cam u get most anywhere with a 4x4 pickup?

You might be able to get away with one and half minnows at a time, but no more.... lol

My experiences would suggest, R&D  resort on Straight Lake and Eagles landing on 5th crow wing.
