Opener

I had a question, are you allowed to fish before open and not keep fish. Or do you have to wait for opener to start fishing?

You can fish, as long as you are not targeting fish in which the season is still closed for angling them.

You can't intentionally fish for species before their opener, even if you plan on releasing.

I usually try for panfish when we're up putting the dock in pre-opener, but I use very small crappie/sunfish tackle. Obviously if you're fishing a 4 1/2" crankbait, you're probably not targeting Bluegills.
