Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

I am crazy....Its not even walleye fishing with boats and real tackle and Im already itching to hunt deer...I was talking with my buddies last night at work(who give me nonstrop crap cuz i only woke up to hunt three mornings last season)and I made three vows for next season

1) I will wake my lazy fat ### out of bed and get in the woods more

2) I will scout more for more spots, better quality sign/areas, and gear it more towards buck hunting

3) I will have a stricter scent control routine and do everything in my power to upgrade my stealthiness in the woods

ONLY 6 1/2 MOR MONTHS!!!!!!!! grin.gifgrin.gifblush.giffrown.gifcrazy.gif

It's good to have a plan....and it's a good thing that there is fishing to fill up the space between hunting seasons!

If you want to know how bad the itch is, I went to North dakota last weekend and had to look at hundreds of deer out in the field. That will make you want to go tommorrow. Glad I dont have to see that all year long.

I got out for walk/scout in the woods this week to feed my fix. I saw more turkey tracks than deer tracks! I might have to pull the bow out this spring, too.

No see-ums were munchin us pretty bad this weekend on a canoe trip too.  Skeeters and flies were not too bad.

I went out for duck opener near Milaca and it was sweltering HOT.  It was even cloudy/drizzly for a portion of the morning and it was still unbearable.  The DNR needs to move all these major hunting season openers back a week.  Its pretty obvious that fall is getting hotter and hotter.  We got 6 ducks and 2 geese but so it was at least a somewhat decent hunt but that didn't make up for the fact that it was like hunting in Louisiana.

+1 on the Smooth Moves.  I installed them on my 1860 Ranger last spring and couldn't be happier with the performance in big water.  Lot's of adjustment and they do a great job of soaking up the rough stuff.  They are a little bulky compared to the other options, but I like the fact that they rely on a mechanical adjustment rather than air.  It would be interesting to sample them side by side in the same boat to really see if one is smoother than the other.  A friend of mine has the Wave Pro and he is happy with that also.  I was close to getting the air wave, but I'm happy I went with the Smooth Moves and would buy them again over the other two.  Good luck with your decision.  No matter which way you go, your back will be happy!

I am still fishing mostly lindys with minnows but getting a few on jig/minnows also. We boated 13 walleyes and 7 jumbo perch this morning. Largest walleye was 21" . Most came out of 24' to 38' depths, close to rocks. Cliff

Fished Saturday morning and trolled my way a half dozen eyes including a fat 26” plus two giant smallmouth.  Went back out Saturday evening put the trolling rods down and went Jig rappin.  Caught another 6-7 fish including another nice 26+ that popped off as I fumbled to grab the net as it wallowed around next to the boat. Tricky bite for me.  Still managed my limit of nice 16” fish.  Fishing mainly rock transitions and rock structure in 16-22’ fow.   I will be back in two weeks for my final hurrah before heading west to the mountains.

I was going to go to my dads pond but my sister texted her friend is there so don’t come. Yep last time that will happen. There is one mad monstermoose! So I stayed home.

One goose and one woodie so far today.  And will probably be our total count.  Saw plenty of birds but in a new spot we didn't have dialed in until the end of the morning flights.
