Red Wing Area Water Temp

Anyone have a rough estimate of what the waters temp is running near Red Wing?

in the mornings last weekend it was 37-38 and later on 39-40

yesterday was 38 - 40 depending on location

And the best part is the flows are up to 14,000 cfs. That will get the fish moving up river more than anything.

Where did you get the flow reports? I heard the creeks have white caps with all the water coming out. But the fishing was still slow. This was a report I heard yesterday.

the water temp is between 37-39 deg.depends where you are. good luck.

      I have read that mercury levels are a reason there is no commercial harvest on vermilion. But it was probably the same thing you read as I have not found a second source of that. There is commercial harvest of rustys on other Minnesota lakes so there must be a reason it's not done here.    For or what it's worth, the DNR has suggestions on how much fish to eat because of mercury.
