Is anyone fishing Long Point this weekend?

3 posts in this topic

I have my sleeper on the lakeside of the pressure ridge by twin island an was wondering, if I need help getting it over to the shoreline side, if anyone might be available to help. I dont know what to expect by the weekend an want to have bases covered. I know kelly an boo are there help but I like to have a backup plan for the backup plan for the backup plan. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Boar

boar; The only thing I saw at twin islands from Long Point today was snowmobiles, I don't know if there is a bridge over the breaker or not. By the way fishing at Twin Islands was hot over the weekend. Was told only snowmobiles were over there. Best to call the resort as things change quite rapidly in this warm weather. Good luck getting your house off.

there is a mess being created out there ladies and gentleman. Be careful. Slush is sneaky. It looks like March out on the ice, not January. Deep slush and standing water, tricky conditions for vehicles and people. Saw a lot of flooded houses today in four mile bay.    Fishing for our group was the same as it's been all season. So Slow It Hurts.   But it sure was fun to be able to fish outside.    On a side note, I picked up nearly a dozen boards left behind from wheelhouses. With all this water and slushy conditions, I agree boards are needed. Just please take them with you or chisel them out. These things can cause a lot of damage to some expensive equipment come open water....

I feel like every time I ice fish in the rain the fish are going nuts...Went out today on a lake in the Duluth area and just pounded the crappies and gills(100+fish)..All the gills were 8-9" and the crappies were 10-12"... Best bait was a glow majum jig with a glow plastic...
