3 posts in this topic

Obviously being a fairly knowledgable user on this site its obvious that im not looking for exact spots here so here goes my quest.

- Im home from college (MSU-Moorhead) and havent fished a darn lick down here at home (Fairbo area). i want to get out with my dad here a little and do some easy going pannies and jumbo fishing if i could. i have read an earlier post on somthing about tetonka?? as this strikes me odd that i havent heard of anything but a few eyes carp and bass come out of that stinky green hole of water. but i was just inquireing about any info on some area lakes any known to do fairly decent late season??? any help would do just fine thanks alot

Coming from the Fairbault area, Tetonka would be your best bet.

Fished Cannon lake this evening. I bounced around from 12-5ft of water and started to mark fish in 8ft so I set up there until dark. I saw a bunch of fish come in for a look but not one nibble. Tried every color and style spoon and jig I had but nothing.

Best thing you can do if you won't be around is to put the house on fresh ice, don't drill any holes, and put it on blocks.  When people get into trouble is if it gets windy and they have open holes under the house, that rain starts blowing around on top of the ice, and starts swirling down into the holes under the house....that swirling water EATS ice, and can sink a house pretty quick.     As as far as the ice on the lakes, if you have 14-15 inches of good ice like most places around, you'll have no worries if you do what is posted above.

Rented a sleeper out on Garrison Bay Sunday night with some friends. Fishing was slow but we managed a few walleyes. Best went 23" on the rattle reel. Was a lot of fun though, wish the bite could have been better. How is everyone else doing out there? Any good bites or has it pretty much slowed down for everyone.     Here is a video of the trip:
