Oak Island - Angle Inn Lodge ???

4 posts in this topic

hello. I am staying at Angle Inn Lodge on Oak Island March 8-10 and will be fishing out of their shacks. This will be my first time to LOTW so I am wondering what to expect - fishing wise. How's the bite this time of year and what type of presentation is working for eveyone in this area? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Fishing should be good up in that area! I was up last weekend out of adrians and from my understanding the reefs were hot. I have had my best luck with a plain red hook and jigging raps. This winter alone we have landed a 28.5 29, and a bunch of 24-27 inch fish on jigging raps, our choice is usually blue and silver or black and silver, even a firetiger pattern seems to work as well.

We stay with them every year. You won't be disappointed. We were up there 2 weeks ago and did very well, as we always have. I'd give more specifics, but since the time between when we went and you're going is so much, it's probably useless.

Good luck

I'll stand behind Steve's ice rods!   I was able to get a nice collection of them last week.  Some panfish rods that I hope to work out tomorrow, and some walleye/laker types that I used today.  Great feel, light, and well built.       I connected with a couple mid-20 inch lakers today and couldn't have enjoyed the fight any better on another rod.  Very happy!   Thanks Steve!
