Zipple 2 man sleeper

4 posts in this topic

Has anyone been in one? I haven't seen the layout. Got one rented out the 2nd-4th of march. What are the odds of catching walleys after dark? Or will it be mainly pout? We going going to be mobile during the day...Hoping to hole hop for sauger. Any tip would be great.

Thanks

Hmmmm, I figured someone would chime in with a diddy for you but I guess not???

I've never done a sleeper with them but I do know Nick, Deanna and crew do a bang up job with their services so I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I've heard the bite has been quite reliable over thatta way too. As for after dark Walleyes? You never know, it's not the best area on the pond for a shot at Walleye after dark but you may luck into a WHALE, and the Burbot will probably keep you on your game thru the nite till that Walleye shows up!

Have a good trip and let us know how it went for you out there.

Stayed in a Zipple 4-man last weekend and Fisky is right they have very nice houses and are nice people. I don't think that you have to worry about that.

As far as fishing last weekend, it was really good for us. 4 guys limited. All 15-18 inch fish with a few 18-20's in there that were thrown back. Didn't get much in the day house. All but 1 came from the sleeper and we were in 14 FOW. Even caught some at night the first night.

When we told him that the next morning he couldn't believe it.

Good Luck!!

I'd ride shotgun then.   But if we get busted at the Border, I'm running!           North!

They guy that taught me to diver hunt had all wood decoys. They ride totally different than the plastic decoy. In low light hard to tell from real birds. That was in 1976. I think he put out about 50 bills and goldeneye dekes

I think it might be time for calling season. I've got the itch. Been working the hand calls the last few days. The neighborhood dogs and cats fall for em almost every time. New batteries in the foxpro and the critter just in case. Got plenty of #3 buckshot for the 20ga and the rifle is ready to bark(as soon as muzzle deer is closed).   please stop and share your seasons ups and downs here. Otherwise I will try not to bore you all too bad with my pour calling and shooting.    Good of luck and happy calling.

Yep, glad they took the snow out of the forecast for next week except for some flurries on Sunday but that shouldn't hurt anything. They lowered the temps a little more also. If the forecast holds and the wind stays down I think the lake could lock up by the 9th or 10th. Walked down to the shore this morning expecting to see some ice along the shore but nope. Looked like there was a little skim out in the bulrushes but that was it.
