Are we limited to 1 rod on Foster since there are Trout in the lake? Maybe a silly question, and maybe an old question.

2 rods are allowed on fosters while your standing on the ice. It's not a designated trout lake. That's an honest question and a good one

Minnows under a bobber have been what I've found to produce the best fish right now. (Well, what I've heard anyways). Flathead minnow is perferred over a crappie minnow, but either will work.

I usually put a minnow/bobber rod down, and jig a jigging spoon with a waxie or minnow head. Sometimes the minnow/bobber gets all the hits, so I switch too 2 bobber rods.

Good Luck

my freind went down the other afternoon. He used a flu flu with a waxie for jiging and he got 4 nice trout off that. Happy to say all made 4 it back to the water.

The only reason they allow you to have a gun while archery hunting deer is if you have a ccw. They did this because if they didn't it would impede on your rights to carry.   Thank you for contacting the Minnesota DNR.   You are correct, your friend is not. Even having both licenses, a person can't have both weapons with them at the same time. That person would need to choose which weapon and license to use, can’t do both hunts with both weapons at the same time.   Please feel free to contact us if you have further questions either by email or by calling 888-646-6367 M-F 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

I have caught them on Vermilion when the mayflies are hatching in the evening by using a fly rod with small poppers or may fly type dry flies. Just cast to the surfacing fish. A spinning rod with an Adjusta Float with poppers or flies may work even better. Cliff

I have also wondered why there are no Sauger in Vermilion. I have never caught one there or heard of one being caught by anyone else. Cliff
