I don't see many people laughing at a snoopy fishing pole and there are many a story of decent size fish being caught on them. The Roland Martin rod has been around for a long time and versions of it are used by handicapped fishermen. I had a buddy who fished with the popeis, would keep it in his breifcase, dang thing caught fish! of course this is the same guy who was caught by the sherif wading in his three piece suit.. grin.gif

I found out 3 weeks ago that a foam minnow bucket with a frozen on lid is useless so are slush scoupers that are at the bottom of the lake. Speaking of bottom of the lake, those cheapo clamp on depth checkers that don't stay clamped to your hook are atop the worthless list.

Now the frog with the sting killed northerns in Red Lake in canada. But it only survived a dozen or so northerns.

Be cool if there was such a thing. Being people are getting so much more interest in pout it wouldn't be a bad thing I'd say.

Thats what I thought.  But I am sure that is what the guy said

I think some people are obligated to keep what they catch. Me I'll keep fish but not very often at least in the winter. (Not on Mille lacs) Mille lacs you have the chance at catching a trophy sure maybe it would be cool to keep it but for a lot of us letting a trophy go is as good as keeping it at least IMHO.

Very disappointing for the resorts as well as anyone else with a financial interest in the lake.  Me?  I release 99% of what I catch anyways, so the rule doesn't affect me much at all....well, I suppose it means I'll have my favorite flats all to myself for at least one more year.  I just really, really wish they'd let us troll after dark in the fall.    Why walleye fishermen aren't more amenable to catch and release, especially on a lake like Mille Lacs that's been on fire for, what, three years now, is beyond me.  Who wouldn't want to go and catch dozens of fish a day even if you have to let them go?
