Slush under ice

Went out south of Grantsburg sat to try this eddy we fished in the summer drilled a bunch of holes and it was all slush a depth finder would not even go through it has any one else ever seen this?

I've never seen it, but I would assume that because it is an eddy, all of the slush from upriver, especially with the high current flow up there, would accumulate just like like debris does in the summer. I would bet that if you could get a line down, there would be fish there. One trick I have used is to rig a tip-up with a bell sinker and a snell tipped with your choice of bait in these higher current spots. If you can find crawlers, use 'em wink.gif. Just because it's winter doesn't mean they won't work. Fish aren't bright enough to not eat them. Fire off a post if you head back and try this out cool.gif
