Today's results were encouraging! We ended up icing eleven 'eyes (nothing huge) and also dropped a few. Unfortunately I never had the opportunity to put in a full day as I had been antiscipating......someone in the party had to leave by noon and they needed transportation. smirk.gif Heading out to a new location tomorrow in search of bigger fish.

Thanks for the reports, Stu. I tried like heck to convince my wife that it'd be a good idea for me to head up to visit you, but she didn't seem to agree. Company coming this weekend so I'm stuck here. Maybe I'll see ya next weekend? Who knows...

During the past three outings the Red has been steadily producing! In total we have a combined total of approximately sixty five sauger/walleye combination and I would have to say that the split would be 50/50. No large 'eyes "yet" but we'll keep searching and work another area tomorrow to see if we can't ice a HAWG or two!

Stay tunes!

Day four and we finally managed to locate an area where some big fish seemed to be holding. Two hawg's landed and another decent fish dropped as well.

Heading out again tomorrow, palnning to fish north and try to eliminate the crowds!

Decent numbers of emerald green and increasing numbers of trophy greens showing up lately. Even an incidental PB burbot (33")for Catmendo. This greeny was a chunky 28" and about 200 yards from us, a 31" greenback was caught too.

I read that they are going to close the walleye season on 9-5-17 regardless of whether the state's quota is met. Fall fishing gone again........    With these highly restrictive regulations that favor ones desire over another's desire will start to pit fisherman against each other.   If we need to have less fishing pressure on the lake then maybe we should close down all of the public launches. Then some would fish other lakes but the balance would be forced to pay to launch at a resort since we are worried about them. Then that extra business could cover their losses if we eliminate live bait which would hurt their fishing launch business. Maybe we should just ban all paid launch fishing and ban all paid guide service on the lake which just brings additional undesired fishing pressure. Maybe restrict the number of hours any one person is allowed to fish the lake throughout the year.   Heck, I would even favor closing walleye fishing for 3 or 4 years straight if that would get us back to some normal regulations.   Yes, these outbursts are why I do not text any more after 10:00 at night. Time to give up the keyboard also.......

I would look in holes and flats near them.  Deep depends on how shallow the section that you're fishing is.
