Have You Driven Past Cass Lake?

5 posts in this topic

Have you driven by Cass in the past few days? Is the bay by the Wayside Rest on 2 still ice free? Could a person still launch their boat for one last trip? One way or the other I'm going to find out when I pull the boat there. But it'll help determine the game plan if I know it's open or not.

Thanks,

Aaron

I was there yesterday... wide open! Word that I got was that the walleye were stacked up in 14' of water... 2 guys got there fish in 1 1/2 hours.

Good Luck!

Ken

It is open all the way around right now... With the wind and warm temps the only lakes with ice are the small ponds now...

So a few questions about Winni as I have never been there before. Do you find that the fishing tapers off as winter progresses, for example if heading up there for Perch and Walleye would you chose January, February or March, or doesn't it seem to matter much?  Also what is the night vs daytime bite like? Trying to plan a few days up there with the wife and trying to decide when to go and if a sleeper is worthwhile or just do a daytime shack.   Any thoughts are appreciated.     Thank you

The Helix 5 gives you the option to view different screens. The view button option shows separate flasher screen, sonar , gps , others. Screen views will run side by side in different combinations, but flasher screen only works by itself. Great little unit. I use mine for gps . Ram mount on handlebar
