What is the largest 8 pt shot in minnesota

A) with a fire arm

B) with a bow

My friend shot a huge 8 pt this week bow hunting, he hasnt had it measure yet, but it's G2's are like 14 inches.

The top scoring 8 pt bucks in Boone and Crockett are just a bit over 180 inches. I don't recall the exact numbers.

Thats not MN scores, thats the all time top deer on their list for 8 pt frames.

He won't put up a pic. I asked him to, but he's afraid it's going to get stolen. I think he said he's putting a pic in the outdoor news. His story is really interesting too, in that 1/2 hour before he shot it, his temp stand collapsed and he fell 18 feet...but didn't get hurt. Amazingly lucky.

He said he did a rookie measurement, and came up with mid 150's...so maybe not a record, but extremely nice.

Shot it in afton, east of the twin cities.

Use a layer of painters (blue) masking tape on cork first, to help protect it, then apply whatever you want. Electrical tape is used by most, but I like using hockey tape.

Mille Lacs would be a good choice. One of the resorts should be able hook you up.

I used a self adhering tape to attach them,  but now the tape is getting sticky and a pain to use.  Any ideas what something else too use? Thanks

Thanks for the reply Rick... One more hour to check off something from my only get to do it once bucket list doesn’t sound bad at all. If it were you is that where you would go?

Check out the South Central Forum, or MN Metro Forum and ask there as well as the SE MN- Rochester Forum. You may get more answers there as well.   If you could extend to three hours away Mille Lacs Lake could for sure accomodate what you are looking for.

Hello...  I am coming down to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester from Homer, Alaska on February 11-20 and would like some advice. On the afternoon of Friday the 16th  through the evening of Sunday the 18th I have the time to go fishing. I would like to go after some pike and walleye. I would like to stay in a heated shack during my time on the ice. Also some rental gear, a radio and bait might be nice. Any advice on who rents shacks within a 2+ hour drive of Rochester with good size fish? I am looking more for decent size than numbers.  Thanks JFaber
