Pheasant preserves Bagley/Bemidji

7 posts in this topic

I also posted in the hunting area. Do you guys have any recomendations on shooting preserves in the area. I would prefer west towards Bagley/Fosston. Has anybody heard of Ruffy Brook by Clearbrook or anything by Bagley?

McCollum's Hunting Preserve east of Bejou. What I've heard they are a good place.

I have hunted McCollum's in Bejou, very nice, but a bit spendy. Eagle Forest Acres in blackduck, great fields, good prices, nice people. Marquette in Bemidji-closed.

Was told Ruffy Brook was closed also, don't know as fact.

Bader's in Federal Dam, nice Fields, but put too many hunters out at a time. Leech Lake hunting area in Federal Dam, good prices, lots of scratch birds, but tough fields to walk.

Hope this helps.

I love these fish! The attitude is always fun and they taste great. The strip of y bones can be cut right out with a little effort.    I know where I'll be early in the morning May 13th with topwaters and swimbaits!

Grubens did permits the 2016 season. Fortune bay stopped writing BWCA permits the end of the 2015 season. Sally retired and that ended the permits at the bay.  Some day we will be able to buy permits on line and print them.

The video shown in the link posted above shows most of the fish they're handling going back because they're not ready or too green. The video was from 4/14 so I would bet they are done as that was 1 1/2 weeks ago. Cutfoot was done in less than a week. Cliff will be able to tell you for sure when then finished but I'd guess they were done by the end of last week.
