Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Detroit and Chicago have to be as low as the Twins are high.

Silva did his job today.

Harvey,

I can see the Detroit part of your post but why the Chicago. Our ship sailed two weeks ago. Most of the team had cashed it in ten games ago. Why would you think we are low now. We got ours last year, good luck getting your this year. Windy

How can the Sox not be disappointed? They under achieved once again.

Well said fisherman, talk about a huge choke.I would rather have a fresh Mauer than a tired hitting champion. If the Twins would have had the Our ship sailed two weeks ago attitude, they would not be where they are today.Maybe the Soxs need to take a better look at themselves.

Hence why they didn't make the playoffs. Hence why the Twins did. The Twins NEVER gave up, even back in June. Any team with self respect and dignity would not give up just because they didn't make the playoffs. You didn't see the Royals give up now did you? Even with 100 losses they still played their hearts out and swept the Tigers.

The royals are definetly the best of the worst. Even with all there inexperienced and overrated, overaged players they won some big games this year, Tigers, redsox, yankees, twins............. Wait... What am i talling about! none of that matters any more. WE WON THE CENTRAL.

GO TWINS!

Windy,

when the TWins lost Liriano on the 7th Aug and Radke a few weeks later,,, your ship should of sailed into port on a stiff tailwind being ahead 8+ in the WC. INstead you were sunk by the combo of Garza,Baker,Silva,Bonser; that's equal to a firecracker sinking a U-Boat.

Your ship sunk with your captian's call to his mates in time of stress agst the PIRANHAS!!!!,, and once you went under, the PIRANHAS ate you alive!!!!!,,, and the TIGERS.

Hey Fisherman, didn't you say that the Sox underacheived last year? And you guys have been to the playoffs 4 of the last 5 years and couldn't even make it to the World Series? Talk about underacheiving!!!!

All you guys keep talkin smack about the Sox.....why? We're still the defending champs until somebody wins it this year.

And until somebody wins it, WE ARE THE CHAMPION, MY FRIEND!!!

And keep talkin smack..........all the Twins have done was won the division. You guys almost got swept by the White Sox minor league system this past weekend.

And don't be too cocky..........excluding divisional foes, you guys have only won 2 series since the all star break against .500 teams.

Commanche...how can you honestly say that the White Sox have not under achieved this year???? Are their any really positive things you can say about how your team did this year. I personally cant come up with any. But the Twins on the other hand i could go on and on about how about this "dream" season they have had this year!

One thing that gives me the utmost gratification is how all Illinois boys all season long were rubbing in how good the your team was and how you are the World Champions.....and If the Twins dont even win one play off game...be rest assured i am that i will be happier than all get up that we played 3 more games this year the the Chicago White Sox! From World Champions one year to not even making the playofss the next....how is that not : confused.gifblush.gifgrin.gifcool.gif( confused.gifunderachieving?? confused.gif

attended saturdays game and sundays game.

All I can say is WOW!!! what a great time.

Went to media day before saturdays game, got to meat Paul Molitor, Terry Ryan and John Gordon.

Sundays game was just a rush the whole day. You just knew something magical was going to happen. Stayed and cheered and it seemed like only a handful of people left. It was awesome how everyone stayed. And then watching the team run out on to the field after the clinch. GOOD TIMES!!!!

I recorded a video on my digital camera that I will try to upload later for all to see.

I was watching the game on FSN. Right smack dab in the middle of the post game show they go to bowling. BOWLING for cripes sake. The Twins are about to win the division and they start covering BOWLING!!!!!

I like bowling as much as the next guy but I wanted to see the outcome of the Detroit game and the following celebration. Guess that's what I get for living 3 miles from the middle of nowhere.

I was in the same boat boilerguy. I thought one of the kids had grabbed the remote. Not one channel was broadcasting anything about the out come of Detroit and our new second team KC. I had to go in the garage and listen to it on the radio. Way to go Twins!!!!!!!!

Guess what Leroy, the Central is the best division and we play them a ton more than the other teams so what you said holds no water.

4 out of 5 years eh? I wouldn't call that underachieving, I would call that utter domination. Your one good season was last year and it is over. Welcome back to your rightful place in the division: 3rd - behind the Twins and playing golf in October!!!!! grin.gifgrin.gif

Whatever makes you feel better! Keep livin' in the past.

As to your remark only two series wins vs teams with a better then a .500 record. Might have something to do with an unabalanced schedule. The only series we lost was in NY. I did remember beating the Sox a bunch of times when it counted. The sweep in Chicago was so sweet.

I agree... Commanche is spewing out sour grapes. be real, live in the "Now" and tell us how you feel about the 2006 ChiSox and how two superior teams outplayed them.... to be more specific, how one team owned them all year and how the other punked them the last month of the year. Was it the horrible pitching? The lack of timely hitting? Ozzie?? Hawk opening up his mouth and spewing garbage? So many choices and I'm certain you've got to have a reason for the demise of the 2006 Sox. I gave your team credit last year for it's great season, but that was LAST year and really think we are about 11 months past that achievement right? They are officially out of the opportunity to defend, therefore roll over and be a big person and give props were props are deserved... or not.

Buzzsaw is right on! The Sox didn't make the playoffs, therefore are no longer defending champs. You no longer can defend something you don't have....and that is an opportunity to play for the championship! Defending champs? Not anymore....PRETENDING CHAMPS is more like it!

Sit up, put your head up, look at the crowd and take the criticisms like a man.

On the lighter side, I am 'SpoonBillSlayer' on that other site. For whatever reason years ago when I joined these sites I used two different userids. Both odd duck names that fit an odd duck! I just wanted to get the new updates out on this mess, it just seems like the only people being notified of it are those in  lake assoc's.  We'll see what happens.

I've massaged the trigger finger this summer by shooting the sporting clays league at Rice Creek.  Good way to make sure I got out! Started a little rough as to be expected but got back the groove toward the end.  Finished the summer at a charity shoot with 39/40.  That felt good.

Through a federal grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources’ has awarded more than $450,000 in local grants to protect and enhance inland coastal resources. The annual grant program is managed by the Minnesota’s Lake Superior Coastal Program, which is a voluntary federal-state partnership distributing federal dollars to projects along the inland coast of Lake Superior. This year, grant funding is being awarded to nine projects in the coastal area: Researchers at the University of Minnesota will monitor and analyze measures designed to reduce erosion of bluffs adjacent to North Shore streams. Results will inform guidance on design criteria for future projects. $35,900. The Arrowhead Regional Development Commission will conduct an economic impact assessment of paved trails within the coastal area; determine the number of users of four popular trails (Duluth Lakewalk, Willard Munger State Trail, Gitchi-Gami State Trail, and St. Louis River Trail), and simultaneously conduct large-scale survey of trail-user habits and impacts on coastal economy. $11,500. Laurentian Resource Conservation and Development is planning to host a two-day conference for academia and coastal managers to bridge a gap between research results and practices of watershed assessment, protection and stream restoration. $23,000. Researchers at the University of Minnesota will increase scientific understanding of success rates of coastal forest seeds. Results will inform coastal managers for improved adaptive management and help determination whether coastal trees should be protected and treated as a unique seed collection zone. $98,875. Duluth Children’s Museum in collaboration with Positive Energy Outdoors will create a year round, innovative outdoor science, technology, engineering, and math active learning experience for children, particularly those in low-income households with limited access. $33,100. University of Minnesota Duluth – Natural Resources Research Institute and several partners will develop protocols for assessing the biomass of periphyton (algae attached to rocks) in Duluth area trout streams for use by professional aquatic and citizen scientists. $77,440. City of Duluth will improve public safety and access to the St. Louis River estuary through upgraded wayfinding signage and amenities on the Western Waterfront Trail.  $89,080. Lake County will develop engineering designs and construct trailhead for Lake County Mountain Bike Trail System, a planned 100-plus mile mountain bike trail system. connecting both beginner and advanced cyclists to nature and physical activity in the coastal area. $70,000. City of Carlton will replace an outdoor restroom facility at the Willard Munger trailhead in city of Carlton. The updated structure will meet current sewer requirements and meet compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act. $11,225. For 18 years, the DNR and NOAA have worked together to better Minnesota’s inland coast. Together, the agencies have granted $12.6 million in pass-through funding to more than 550 local projects and provided thousands of hours of technical assistance. Projects are selected for funding through an annual competitive grants process. For more information about Minnesota’s Lake Superior Coastal Program, visit www.mndnr.gov/mlscp. Second the guide.  Fishing a lake in the north is totally different from fishing Mississippi or lake Zumbro or other lakes in the southern half of the state.  Otherwise you should look at the best place to launch your boat to be close to good fishing.  Rainy is a very big lake.. Ask in http://fishingminnesota.com/forums/forum/98-rainy-lake-fishing-reports-hunting-events/ the rainy lake forum.

Unless they find a way to stop all the kinds of waterfowl from swimming, diving, eating and pooping from lake to lake. It's never going away.
    • RuddyDuck
I saw this on the Wright County website today: http://www.wrightswcd.org/Water_Mana...e_species.html
There's a link in Blue on the home page.

Sounds like they are having a meeting about it on AUG 23. From talking to the DNR, I believe they didn't allow the initial dates for this to happen. Mostly because there was really no comment period on it. Sounds like they are gonna have it now. Guess if your against it, now's your chance to speak up. You can also send in written comments. Not sure exactly to who, at least I didn't see that part clearly. Maybe to Alicia O'Hare.

Like others have said, I believe their ultimate goal is to have this implemented county wide at some point. When you look at the committee info, most groups are lake associations. Hopefully it still can be stopped. Here is the DNR person I called on this, she was helpful: Heidi Wolf - 651-259-5152

Anyone else have new info on this?
