End of Gunflint ?'s

1 post in this topic

I am heading up to the end of the Gunflint for work next week. Me and the guy that are going with me are outdoorsmen and we'll be looking to having some fun ie fishing or hunting somwhere around there. We are avid whitetail hunters. Are there any deer to be had in the 3 days we'll be there or should we just bring the fishing rods. If we just bring the fishing gear what will we need to target some 'eyes or maybe smallies.

Other questions I have that will make me sound soft are- Is there a place up on the end of the trail that I could watch the Twins play? Will there be an easy place to call home from?

We will be staying at Wilderness Canoe Base. Does anyone know anything about them?

Thanks everyone

Hey all, I've been looking at upgrading my ice fishing set up and came upon the Eskimo propane auger and EVO shelters. Would anyone mind giving their opinions/experiences with either product? Thanks, stoneeyes317

Fishing good today. Finally got a break in the weather! Fished alone. 32 fish total. Ten walleyes mostly big ones but I did keep an eater, rest bass. Three at 25". Biggest bass 19-1/2" - 4.60 lbs. Best lure Fin-S-Fish on 1/4 oz football jig.   I wasted the early morning trying to catch some more big pike - zilch. Downsized lures and got into bass & walleyes. My guess is they are filling up on ciscos - especially based on the pike stomachs yesterday - stuffed!   Today's video
