<<<ELY FALL FISHING>>>

6 posts in this topic

Im staying at the college at vermillion and weve been going out and pounding different shore fishing spots, not to catch anything. Weve just been trying to bring home one meal of walleyes or crappies... If anybody knows of a sure fire shore spot, within twenty miles or so of ely for walleyes or crappies and wants to point me in the general direction that would be much appreciated. Thanks for any input!!!

Try the fall lake dam. Ive caught walleye on the bottom and lots of nice crappie and walleye on the top of it.

Not much water going through there right now. Maybe upstream in Garden would be worth a try.

Try the dam down Hwy 1 on Birch Lake. If you aren't dead set on Walleyes or Crappies there are a few stream trout lakes you could try. High, Dry, Glacier1, Glacier2, Miners.

Several years ago we visited Silver Rapids Resort just outside Ely. I shore fished just above the rapids throwing plastics on jigs and caught some nice walleyes & crappies.

Try the falls on Bass Lake, a bit of a hike, but it may be worth your time.

I'll stand behind Steve's ice rods!   I was able to get a nice collection of them last week.  Some panfish rods that I hope to work out tomorrow, and some walleye/laker types that I used today.  Great feel, light, and well built.       I connected with a couple mid-20 inch lakers today and couldn't have enjoyed the fight any better on another rod.  Very happy!   Thanks Steve!

Not bad! Was the ice soft all they way through?
