Buy a PRIM map or Gazeeter. They list all the WMA's and WPA's.

I hunt this area occassionally when I do not have time to travel further from home and have averaged one rooster per day (hald day hunt) on Rice Cty public land each of the last two years.

Best to wait until crops are harvested or get permission on private land. Better have a solid pheasant dog. Birds will be invisible without a good dog.

I believe that one in Monticello closed down

Most of our fish came on minnows under bobbers. I spooked countless fish with even subtle jigging.

I never made it out Monday was too tired from fishing Friday - sunday didn't feel like getting up early

Hey, Here a quick update on actual ice thickness or snow cover on trout. 14 inchs of ice pressure ridge out there. if you are  on a snowmobile if traveling fast on it watch for it. Truck or car i do not recommend on trout with pressure ridge. And yes i have been on the whitefish chain this year in truck. just not on trout. just my 2 cents
