shads or sticks

When trolling do you usually start out with stick baits (Huskys or rogues) or shads? Do you find one better early (Sept) and/or another better late (Oct/Nov)?

I have had better luck with the shads early on and as the water temp falls the stick baits pick up. I also found that as the water temp falls late in the fall the shad raps pick up most of the eaters. (But who wants an eater that time of year, it's time for the hogs )

Andy, im off for the next week and will get out at least once. We had our little girl last tuesday and I made an agreement with the wife to hold off for a bit until night cranking picks up and hunting kicks in. I also have a pup im trying to get ready for all the birds . We will get out!
