Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin Dead at 44

5 posts in this topic

I just read an article about Steve Irwin dying. Apparently he was stung through the heart by a stingray while diving off the coast of queensland. I really dont know what to say about this being I loved the man and his show.....All my prayers go out to his family and everyone affected by this...

This man did wonders for sharing his love of the outdoors with millions of fans. It's a tragic loss.

Steve's always been a top notch fella in my book and the channel clicker always paused on the Animal Planet & Discovery Channel for a few seconds to see iffin he was on.

He was a stand-up kinda guy and I will continue to look to look at him as a "role model" in terms of his passion and love for the outdoors and its "beautiful" wildlife creatures.

I agree with everything Tyler said, but I'm gonna say what many of you may be thinking but not willing to say, "IF you mess with the bull".

I really liked his passion, but he did some things that were darn right dangerous. It would be interesting yet morbid to see that final filming, was it a complete freak accident or was he pushing the limits like he's done before.

At least he went doing what he loved to do.

Seen some fox tracks where I was looking for birds yesterday so I might have to head out there after dark.

Went out yesterday after the wake and visitation with Finn. He flushed two hens and I saw him chasing a rooster but I am not fast enough to keep up. It flushed about a hundred yards out from me. We seen one grouse but it flushed 60 yards in front of Finn and he was only 10 yards infront of me. Then Finn started going crazy so he headed into the cat tails and wow 50 or so mallards flew at me and then 7 big swans. Finn did not look happy that I just watched them. It was a fun little trip.    Anyone else Lise out there chasing birds yet?

Quick question, we have never come up in the winter, but it's my understanding the ice is usually questionable around Oak Narrows and Timbuktu. Does anyone know what the ice is usually like in Birch Narrows (West Hinsdale) and Smarts Bay (SW area Hinsdale) around the Retreat Lodge Area which is where our island property is.   Thanks for any insight

As of yesterday most lakes are froze over please watch for areas that geese and swans have kept open. I checked a lake and found about an inch yesterday and I am sure it made some more last night.

U-Haul in Hermatown will fill a tank and you pay for what they put in.
