I will be heading up for my first visit to Rainy Lake from sept. 6th to the 10th. I was wondering if anyone has rented a houseboat from nothernaire houseboats? We have a 50' boat reserved. Just a group of guys looking to have a good time on the water and catch a buzz and also some fish. Just wondering what to expect? It sounds like the bite has picked up? We will be boating to kettle falls and back, does anyone have any sugestions for stops along the way? We will be staying on the US side of the lake. Thanks!

Another beautiful day on the ice Thursday. I got skunked but my buddy Scott got a couple of nice ones- a 28" and a 29".

Are you saying people with better reports are being dishonest?

Sounded like a good mix of fish.    The walleyes I lost were because I couldn't get a good enough hook set on em.  I was using my light action crappie rod with 2 lb test.  Even the ones I iced had the hook come out while the fish were in the hole.  I was just quick enough to get a hand on em.   I tried the same presentation on a walleye rod with 8 lb test and never actually got bit.
