The public comment period has been extended to Oct 1st.

Proposal:

Dnr Fisheries has proposed stocking Muskellunge in Pokegama Lake to create a self-sustaining trophy population. Specifically, stock 1978 Leech Lake strain fall fingerlings(mean length 10-12 inches) every other year over a period of nine years. Stocking will be discontinued to evaluate natural reproduction after five stockings. Under the proposal, Pokegama Lake would remain open to northern pike spearing, as allowed by state law.

Comments may be sent to chris.kavanaugh@dnr.state.mn.us

I sent my email supporting the stocking. Sorry I couldn't be there.

And a possible correction - According to the MN DNR site the email should be chris.kavanaugh@dnr.state.mn.us

(not "cris"). I don't know for sure ?

The forum has do much more than fishing reports, hot bites, etc.  There's been more general and specific fishing  techniques, information and connecting with each other that has happened  here.     I can get hot bite information in a lot of places.  In fact many hot bites never do up on these forums.  Sounds like you've got a lot of information in a lot of places.   That's great!  Many of us have done the same thing.     Many of us have got together on the ice, in the woods or on the water because of.this forum.  That's what I've always enjoyed the most.     Hope to be able to keep doing that for a long time.

Correct.  You can throw him a buck or two to keep the road graded and all is good.  At least that's my understanding.
