I also think it's a great tournament, even though I didn't finish that well. It's "almost" funny, because I have finished worse every year? Here's my history in the tournament.

2002 - 26th (9 fish) 43.11lbs **1-9lbs all other slots**

2003 - not sure of place (8 fish) 42.17lbs **36lbs 2nd day**

2004 - 70th (7 fish) 38.41lbs **20th after day one**

2005 - 85th (4 fish) 22.28lbs **2 pounds day one**

2006 - 112th (6 fish) 29.28lbs **Biggest fish 8lbs**

I'm hoping it will turn around and start going the other way next year! I still havent had great luck with big fish during this tournament. Biggest I think was 12lbs, and all others were under 10lbs. **USUALLY** I can put fish in the boat, I just need some bigger ones.

Catman, with some of the weight you have you could almost be in the money on some years. I told a couple of guys this year if they could just get into the high 40 they could be in the money. I couldn't belive it when the money started somewhere around 64.5 pounds. I just guessing but I think that might be the highest cut off for the money that I can ever remember. Keep on tryen and hope to see you next year. If your out again this year look for the Green crestliner with the 90 evinrude on it.

Yah, I think it is the highest yet. I was actually telling my partner before the tournament this year, "if we can catch 30lbs a day...we'll be in the money, maybe even the top 15?" uh...nope not this year. I think it's great there were such high weights, it shows how good the fishery is even with the scary fish die-off this spring.

I'll look for you if I get over there again. I have spent a little more money this year than the wife likes, so it's gonna be tough to get out much more this year.

It's sad, when you're a kid your parents are always telling you what you can and can't do, once you turn 18 it's finally over, you get to be your own boss...then you get married and it's just like being a kid again?

If you could have added your walleye to the weight total, you'd have been right up there with your previous years weights.

How many other teams accidentally stuck a 29" walleye? Not many I'm betting! Thats where the skill is at.

Kent, how'd the trip with the fella from Minot go? I hope you found some fish and showed him a good time. I'm sure you did... I saw you called last night, but didn't see the missed call until about 10:30. We were in Ada visiting "grandma".

That is a darn nice EYE in anyones book. I miss catching them sumo Eyes over here... I hope some of them come back this fall. The more I look at that pic the more I see a resemblence, is it the grin or the dew?

Very nice eye. Can't wait until Late fall to try for the babies again. Was funny last year driving down the river seeing this deer hunter standing behind a tree waiting for the drivers. I waved at him and he just gave me this look of what the El are you doing. The snow was coming down and I was out on the river fishing, it was so funny, the look we got.

Scoot, the trip is this weekend. I'll let you know how I did.

wow talk about luck... we just got done with the TRF trounament. The fella that won the Walleye catagory hardly ever fishes, did not have a boat, walked down to the shore, bare hook, chunk of crawler small sinker, toossed it out and hit the water and bam.. largest Walleye. Over 5Lb. sigh sigh... I dont know what to tell ya.,...

I tell ya what.. I even put the camera down after seeing all the sonar fish and could see carp all over the place but they would not eat..... Even tried globbs of worms and nothing..sigh sigh... Miller luck kicking in again...

You mentioned missing good walleye fishing. Was it tough last Spring and Fall too, or has it just been a tough one this year? Any thoughts on why it's been such a struggle this year? I hope the fall run is better than the spring this year...

spring walleyes were good, the rest of the summer they are just very random like all the other fish. I think now with this dam missing, we will have to have seasonal fish rather than resident fish. I hope they come back in the fall but time will tell.

Yeah, I wondered if you were getting at the impact of the dam changes or not. It may positively impact the fishery as a whole, but targeting the buggers in the spring and fall has become a lot tougher for me once they rerocked the dams.

Sounds like your spring was better than mine. I generally struggled this year for eyes. Managed a few, but nothing big and pretty hit and miss. The population density changes in many of the areas I fish around Fargo has definitely negatively impacted many of my favorite spots. Tons of people fishing many of my favorite spots this last year- spots I'd never seen anyone before! Oh well, change and adapt I guess...

I hear ya... I have to start all over.. 12 years of studying the fishery, feeling comfortable in my knowledge and now starting all over.. sigh sigh... It is amaizing how much just that change of water flow by removing the dam, the fish just tweek out and scatter... Odd....
