Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

You and I know who you are and that you read this area of posts.

I waited several days to post this in hopes you hooked that full spare tank of gas you thieved from my boat onto your's.

The reason: that tank of gas was over two years old and hopefully has now laquered up every jet and nook and cranny of your Mercury! That's Karma, brother!

We also know who you are. You really aren't very smart. You left tracks that night right out of the private launch right in your direction.

You must've been drunker than usual because you also left behind another tell-tale sign of your identity, which just the authorities and I know about.

You also have the only other motor on this end of the lake that my tank will fit on.

You don't have to worry about justice finding you, I'm sure some already has and more will follow.

After all....that's your Karma. Just keep drinking to excess like the fool around here everyone knows you to be.

By the way, hows the Mercury running now????

Sorry to hear about your loss....sounds like he might be rewarded quite nicely though.

We had six gas tanks stolen from boats in our resort harbor one night this past June but it turned out to be neighborhood thugs/kids and the owner at least got the tanks back a couple weeks later.

H'mmmmm.........

Beer $5+ per gallon

Gas only $3+

Seems to me he ought to be more interested in stealing your beer?

Where is beer only 5 bucks a gallon? Let me guess beer for that cheap is not going to go down well but I am sure it will come up easy enough. Sorry about your gas tank being stolen get some bear traps and place them around your boat and use a case of beer for bait.

You are right Monster, which is why I used the +.

Maybe the state run stores are more, and for the good stuff, it is definitely more, but at a buck a can for 5 cans = 60 oz and 1/3 of another can = 4 oz which then equals a gallon. Ergo $5 + .33 = $5+.

When I have to start paying more than $24 per case at the store, I will start feeling sobriety coming on.

0r were you referring to buying beer at the ginjoint?

Don't want to question your math but 32oz to a quart, 4 quarts to a gal 128 oz.. soory but the price of your beer just doubled...it did sound good though! smirk.gifgrin.gif

On another note I just filled up a 5 gal can and forgot it on the island at the gas station, returned in 10 minutes and it was already gone. My fault got busy talking but it sure didn't take long for someone to claim it..

Bobby (and Monster),

I stand corrected. You know how it goes, "I'm wrong, but I'll defend myself to the death for the right to be wrong".

If I think 64oz = gal, its no wonder I can't hold my booze! My bad, and I'm sorry - its also no wonder I can't use the metric system!

Now, as to that can you lost, did you check inside the station's lost & found? As if........

well lets see 16 gallon keg costs about 65-75 bucks that would be under your 5 dollars a gallon. Kegs are the way to go for cheap beer. I will help ya out just so your right! Now think what a bar makes on a glass of tap beer hmmm dang!

Oh yeah, they make plenty.

In college, we had a keg going 24/7 for .25/glass on the honor system and there was always enough in the jar to replace the keg when it sputtered.

Big Marine had 8" at the north access out to the weeds before the main lake.  Lots of walkers, a number of wheelers.  5 inches past the weeds above the ice before the island.   Access was crazy...very inconsiderate people tripple parking, a guy I was with got parked in, trucks behind and in front of him.  Luckily I was parked beside him and was able to move enough that he could get his truck out.   Fishing was very slow.  Couple panfish, a bass and snake northern.

I was out on Hiniker Pond last night. Had no luck with fish but I was after dark. Straight out from the pier about 30 yards you got a solid 3.75 to 4 inches. Duck lake has about 5 inches. Henry had 4 inches last week. Not sure about this week.

Doc was up there with a couple of his boys on Thursday fishing out of portables.  He gave me a call when he was on the ice.  I said, “. Let me guess what you got on”.  Red stripe Demon with a female fat head hooked through the pooper hole on the dead stick and a purple smelt rattling flyer with a minnow head on the other pole.  I nailed it.  He still uses a jiggle stick for his dead stick.  He had to sign off as a fish came in on the Vex.  Put it in the bucket Shaky.

Thanks for the reply. Ya, McNally's gets pounded right away. I looked at the ice in front of Schafer's in Onalaska yesterday; there was about 3.5" of ice near the docks, and then it got thinner in a hurry. Apparently someone got wet feet there earlier in the day.  I ended up at Lawrence Lake Marina just north of Brownsville yesterday. There was probably 4" of good clear ice, much better than what I found in  La Crosse. Will post pictures later, but I got one nice largemouth on a tip up at the Marina, one 10" perch, and a couple small perch.  Today I drove around Winona, and fished the backwater pond east of Latsch Island on the west side of the road. The ice there was...not real good.  I stuck close to shore on 3" of not-real-clear ice after my spud bar saved me from a cold bath a little farther out.  I caught a few small perch there, and a bunch of small bluegills. Nothing worth keeping, and nothing on the tip-up. Was expecting the ice to be a little better than what I found, but what do you do?
