Was out 3 - 9 on Fri.... Picked up two 24, two 25.5, and 4 keepers. Used both crawlers and leeches on long rigs. Crawlers seemed better. Missed many fish too. Beautiful day ... very little waves. Only a few mayflies. Fished Serugucci and The Finger.

Was out today from 6-3 and did great. Threw many big ones back, biggest being 26.5". Threw a few small ones back and kept 6 walleyes for 2 guys and 2 NICE perch. Hopefully everyone is releasing those big fish quick with the rising water temps. Good luck all. Gotta make it up again soon.

Fished 7am-4pm on the 2nd. Caught over 30 fish on the flats. Long rigs with leeches and crawlers. Allot of big fish only 3 under 20. The biggest where 2 at 28 and 2 at 27 and down from there. Also we did pull cranks for awhile with some success.

Was out on Shermans South tip on Friday afternoon for a few hours. Picked up 8 with 5 keepers. Rigging with leeches. Biggest fish was 23 inches. Smallest keeper was 17 inches. Beautiful day. Apparently the best action was on the "North" mud pulling spinners.

Two of us were out Sunday, pretty choppy, but still mananged to cover some water, we fished center bar, 3 mile, hunters point, sloppy joes and shermans. Slower than I thought it would be but the ones we caught were very nice sized. Kept two 16"ers and released a 28, a 27 and a bunch between 23 and 26". The ones that bit would just hammer the leech, wouldn't even need to feed line. Caught 3 on a crawler rig.

Was on the pond Friday afternoon through Saturday night. Fished out of the SE and spent much of my time on new territory (around Hennepin Island). Friday afternoon was pretty spotty, with the baby blue skies and NO wind. Went out in 25-28ft of water and couldn't by a bite. Decided to pack up things and try again around 8:00pm. This time we had better success pulling lindy's with a red hook and bead and a leech. Nothing real big, actually all fish caught were keeper material. Between 2 boats (5 fisherman) we had 10 fish. Saturday morning (8:00am-11:00am)went a little more north/west and fished 3 mile reef. Didn't do much good there and again between the 2 boats we managed 5 fish. Nothing big again on that trip out.

Sunday we had several other boats out and my group (same 2 boats) fished around the NE side of HI and caught 10-15 walleyes. Some lindy rigging and some slip bobbering. Another boat from my group targeted Sloppy Joes and their biggest was a tad under 28"!

We didn't slam em' like some of you did, but for being on a new piece of water it was rewarding to get into some of those fish!

Got up Sat just in time to bobber in the evening. Set up on the East side. Only caught 1 fish, we got spanked,a couple boats around us were litterally pounding fish, pretty frustrating to say the least, oh well I got icons for those spots next time . Sunday headed out and did good, two of us caught 19 fish, 27", 2-25", many from 19-22". Fish bit best before 11am. Didnt fish the evening bite at all. Cant wait to get back out again.

My fishing buddy and I fished on the North side on Saturday morning. We started off working the north shore and caught about 3-4 fish outside of the slot then moved on to the mud flats.

On the flats, we caught several BIG fish (24+) plus I caught my biggest walleye EVER... 32.5 inches. I took a couple of nice pictures then slid her gently back into the lake.

The weather was fine and the fishing was terific. It sure made up for some of those tough days in past years.

My oldest daughter has a great quote when she heard about my success on Saturday... "fishing is alot like gambling... you need to have some success once in a while to keep you coming back"

Enjoy Mille Lacs! It's a great time to fish this great lake.

Yeah Yeah even if I wasn't sleeping I think it would have been a tough one to convince the better half to let me go....coulda shoulda woulda......plus I didn't want to get out fished by you....which seems like it would easily be the case!!!!! Good Job on those catches!!!!

Yesterday me and a buddy went out on the big pond and enjoyed beautiful weather all day. Got on the lake before 6 a.m. and there was only one boat in sight. Until about seven we boated four fish on the north side sand. These fish seemed to be relating to the transitions between rock and sand in deeper water and bit both crawlers and leeches. At about eight we ventured out to the flats where we fished many locations catching all kinds of fish with not one less than twenty inches. They key was using a crawler with a small green spinner and a very long snell. We caught them back trolling at .4 mph and drifting at almost 1 mph. I just didn’t seem to matter. I used a leach for the first couple hours and although they would bite the ratio was at least three to one for the crawler. At around three O'clock we went in to get something to eat and on the way in we stopped about 1.5 miles to fix the trolling motor that bounced loose and instantly started marking fish. This was out near the last break heading into the main basin in 28 feet with no visual structure. With a slip bobber and crawler (which seemed weird under a bobber) we also caught more fish here again not less than twenty inches. I’m assuming these fish were in a staging area for a transition to deeper water and how we got lucky enough to stumble upon them I don’t know but it was amazing! After awhile here we went in and came out for the bobber bite on the shallow rocks and did not do well. With many trips logged this year and many other, this may have been the single best Mille Lacs trip of our lives, and had to share it with this great site, hopefully it’ll still be hot on Friday!

Usually I do not miss being in Minnesota, as I LOVE Alaska all year. But this spring I am going bonkers missing out on the Mille Lacs bite. I can't wait to come home for a week at the end of this month and get up there. The past few years when I have come home we have just pounded the fish on Mille Lacs. I sure do miss it. Thanks for making me drool with all the reports guys, keep them coming.

FYI to SeaMc23, You're not suppose to be on the lake before 6:00 am with fishing gear untill the night ban goes off. Again, just an FYI.

Got on the water yesterday just after 6am and fished until around 2pm. Great day on the water! Me and a good friend (A bass guy) fished the mud all day long. The first 2 hours were very busy, with doubles several times. Caught many fish in the 24-25 inch range and managed to keep 7 eaters and 2 jumbo perch. The fish wanted both crawlers and leeches on long snells with red hooks. We fished several different flats and did well on all of them. All of these fish look very healthy and have been hitting hard. Boated over 30 fish with the biggest being just over 25. Great day to be on the water (again) ! I also did not see many boats on the water until around 7:30 -8am.

hwalleye18, you're right, the ban does not go off till 12:01 June 12 and you can't be on the water with gear before 6:00am before then. Also, July 15th, the slot opens up to 22".

Hey thanks, Yes I was aware of that but it was just before 6 am, although a couple minates wouldnt matter to the drn dropping the boat in before hand seemed to be alright, but either way there was only one boat around until after seven which was kinda nice to see on a lake where normally its busy.
