There is all of six inches of ice on Little Rock people are out on 4-wheelers. There is a few houses out there but there scattered and most of them i think are spearing. But there is plenty of ice here to start fishing!

There are several portables and a few wheelers on Pleasant. I went out and just used a chisel to open a hole to wet a line. I would only say 4"--- I wouldn't be surprised if someone went through

went out to little rock and pleasant yesterday to check ice and on little rock we found 8 inches this was in the area on the east side of the lake out of the little park area i saw a car parked out in the middle of the lake which in my opinion is a bit foolish to be doing but , anyway and on pleasant straight out of the landing we found 6 to 7 inches and talked to acouple of guy that said they found about 5inches as you get out towards the deeper part of the lake so it maybe even thinner that way.

I fished three lakes today, Eden, Cedar Island and Schneider.

I found about 5 inches on each lake. There were some wheelers out, the ice seemed good.

As for the fishing, I managed 15 or so bluegill, 2 crappies and a few small perch. All fish were released, not too much for size.

It sure did feel good to be walking on water again...

fished the afternoon for perch on Little Rock yesterday (12/11)...surprised to see 2 guys driving full sized trucks right out by us off of Erdman's point...one guy came right past us and I got nervous...thought I would see a vehicle go through for the first time with my own eyes...we were sitting on about 7 inches of ice. What a bonehead! There is enough for a wheeler but NOT a truck.

I was on little rock saturday and sunday there was about 9.5 inches straight out from the park. Sunday morning was a cold ride out but at least its making ice again.

Sunday afternoon on the north end of Little Rock, about 100 yards west of the point by the park I measured ice at 11 inches.

Back out on Little Rock again today. Aroud 11 inches or better of good ice.

Ice is still slushy, walking or ATV's OK. Leave the Dodge Dakota on shore for now. I found some gills on Cedar Island but the majority of them were small. Saw some nice pike on the Aqua-Vu, but couldn't get them to bite.

I was on Pleasant 1/4/06 and the ice was good enough for 4 wheeler-about 7 inches solid with 2 inches frozen slush. Pearl on 1/5/06 same cond. maybe an additional inch of solid ice on Pearl. Nothing really biting, had the camara and vex on both. got a couple of northerns on tip ups on both lakes and some sunnies on Pleasant.

Rice Lake by Roscoe had about 7 inches of good ice and 2 inches of frozen slush on top.

I was on Rice yesterday afternoon as well. I was surprised to see that all the slush was frozen(at least on the parts of the lake I was fishing). Looked like it averaged 7 inches in the 50 holes I drilled.

I will have to admit the ice is looking better than I have expected. I have found the slush to be frozen on alot of the local lakes. If we get a stint of real cold weather things may shape up for a real good late ice season.

Don't hold your breath. Looks like a string of above average temperatures again. I heard something like 40's by Wednesday! Try and use caution everyone.

Was on Pearl yesterday (1/16/06) for a work tourney, pleanty of ice for a 4-wheeler. I would say there was 8-10 inches. There was an older s-10 chev. blazeer that drove on the ice by us to move his house-I think he was a fool-but that will give you an idea about how much ice is on the lake......

on litle rock tonight and there was about 14 inches mabe 10 of it was good ice but didnt seem to mater for all the tucks driving out there saw a 1ton desiel come off the lake thats awful ballzy or stupid

Measured 13" of ice on Cedar Island and 12-18" in various spots on Horseshoe this past weekend. There were a few trucks out on Horseshoe, including one idiot that drove right near the meth hole whipping donuts. The access points were in fairly decent shape, although they should take a beating this week if it warms up.

Measured 14.5" out on Kramer. Still drove the truck on the ice but i think that is going to be the last drive on the ice.

I was out on Clearwater this past Sunday and I'd say there is probably 12" of ice out there. It isn't the real thick clear ice that we see in January.

Plenty for 4-wheelin' and snowmobiling across the lake. I did note one guy took his van out there.

Drilled Pearl on Sat (03/18) - out from the launch a couple of hundred yards until we found 8-10 feet of water. Consistent 15 to 17 inches. We took the truck out, but of all the activity on the lake that day, we were the only vehicle to venture onto the ice. ATV's and sleds, but no other vehicles. I suppose we're about done, too. (Snowmobile trailer tongue was frozen to the ground, so we opted to try one last weekend with the truck.) Bumped into some nice panfish and got off the lake dry. All in all, a good day.

I saw a Blazer today that tried to drive on Cedar Island, but only made it 5 feet.

The front tires went thru, the back tires were on the water's egde.

The shorelines are getting very soft, so be carefull.

As for the fishing, it was slow. Got a few fair sized gills, but mostly small fish.

Yikes! Bummer... well, I guess it's time to call it a wrap. Sleds or hikin' it from here on in. Our fishin' truck actually belongs to my wife and we have an agreement that if that puppy ever goes through the ice, she doesn't want to know about it until she discovers a new crew cab sitting in the garage.

Snuck out today. Another guy showed up right when I did and we decided to head out for a bit. When we first got out there was decent ice. The bottom half of the ice looked real good yet. By the time we headed off the lake I bet only the bottom 3-4" or so looked good. Anything on the ice was picking up the sun and would have a six inch hole melted around it.

Had to pick a likely looking spot to get off the lake since it was ringed with water. Walking out you only needed to avoid the one or two spots, coming back you had to find the one spot with good enough shore ice. Looks like the last day for me on the ice. Find myself kind of sighing and looking around when a season closes. Thankfully there's always another season just around the corner.

I think my age is catching up to me. This is the first year in a while that I haven't pushed the limits and broken through to my knee getting off a lake. With age comes wisdom or at least the desire for more age.

As of yesterdays rain, I have seen pelican lake in St.Anna become extremely slussy mow, and it is open near the shore, so thats one lake that is not safe anymore. I don't think alot of them are, after the rain in this area.
